Hey VJ family,

Any of you out there know if my mom will need any more money when she goes to her interview next week? I read that it's free now for the visa pick up. I know we have to pay the 165 after she receives the visa. Please Any clarification will be welcome. Tanx again guys.

I hope you've gotten an answer by now. If you haven't, this is the best I've got... I honestly don't know anything about the process you're going through specifically. But my fiance had his interview on Thursday and didn't need any extra money at the interview.

His interview went really smoothly. It was scheduled for 7 am and he said there wasn't anyone in line at 6 am and he got in line at 6:30 and that he was able to get into the embassy. He said everyone was really nice that he spoke to. Good luck on Wednesday! I hope it goes awesome for your mom!!!

Thanks! She have all her papers so I hope it goes well. Now how long they told him to wait till he can pick up the visa? And did you hear about a fee to pay the Haitian government?

He was told to register on the ustraveldocs.com website but there's no K-1 visa selection available so we're still working on figuring out how he can pick up his passport. I'm suppose to hear from the site's support people on Wednesday. But the Ceac website says that his visa status is issued... meaning that he should be able to pick it up tomorrow. I'm frustrated to say the least.

Have you done anything with the ustraveldocs.com site? If you have, you might want to look at the IV Address Registration piece and make sure your mom's visa type shows up there. If it doesn't, you might want to have her ask them about it before she leaves the embassy. But I'd assume it will be there for her.

As for a fee to the Haitian government, I haven't heard of one yet. Is that new? Do you know how much and where/when he has to pay that? (Which is just ridiculous!)
