Well, this year won't be much of a v-day for us. I asked if he celebrated V-day and he said yes. He did get me and my daughter a gift, however, he is not allowed to send silver through the mail. Go figure. So, next year, we will celebrate together.

Wow that's so weird about the silver! I wonder why that is? I can understand not sending produce and things like that but I'm at a loss as to what harm silver could cause.

It probably has to do with some sort of trade rules/shipping things by mail. My mom can send me homemade jams, candies, etc. but "storebought" stuff are non-nos, theoretically you aren't supposed to import new goods that you "could" buy in the US. That's why all my stuff that I shipped by mail I had to mark as "used" or "gifts" on the customs forms. Just my thoughts. :)

You can send silver out of Morocco. Now, whether or not you want to risk it actually getting to the destination is another matter. However, they have just totally revamped the mail system so that it's less expensive, and can be tracked.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

Many Egyptians in particular celebrate V-day. Egyptians like holidays in general :) Ask your husband how he feels about it. My husband is fine with it and we've sent each other ecards and called each other on Vday for the past 2 years. Did you not know your husband last Vday?

Ah, here's the thread:

We don't celebrate Valentines day. Husband views it as a religiously based thing, even if it isn't in modern times.

So, we celebrate the day after Valentines Day, which is a double bonus, because then we can get all the chocolate and lovey dovey goodies half off

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

So this is the infamous thread? I don't see anything wrong with it, but anyhooo. Doodle, Valentine's day is widely celebrated in Jordan and as you know, Jordan is 94% Muslim. People just celebrate their love for each other, they don't honor any saints.

What's so infamous about it? :o

Valentine's was never a big thing with my family but neither are birthdays and regular holidays.
