I've tried perusing this site and many others, but it seems like everyone's situation is different, so I'd like some thoughts on mine.

My fiance is in Cameroon, we've received NOA2 and I'm getting things together, but I'm worried about the I-134. I was a student, and then lived in Cameroon for a year. When I moved back to the states in November, I got a job almost immediately, and I'm making above the 125% poverty guidelines. However, I have a few problems:

1. I got my job through a temp agency and I'll still be on their payroll for another month. I know my boss will be happy to write a letter stating that he intends to have me continue on a permanent basis. How much of a problem will this be?

2. My income tax returns for the past couple of years won't reflect me earning above the 125% guideline and I've only been earning enough for a few months--is that a problem?

I have a decent amount of savings, some bonds, and money in mutual funds and stocks. Having a co-sponsor is not an option. Any thoughts or advice? Has anyone dealt with the embassy in Yaounde? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm still waiting for my NOA2, but have gotten quite ahead of myself researching Packet 3 and interview documents! :)

I've heard it doesn't matter how long you have had the job, but I thought that seemed weird to me. I would suggest including as much evidence as you can offer (your savings, bonds, etc.) in addition to your letter from the employer.

If a co-sponsor is not an option, that's really all you can do.

Best of luck!

Try reading the Foreign Embassy forum for good info on the I-134, but I can tell you right away that I think you'll need a co-sponsor.
