Hey there,

I just received a letter from Selective Services that has a little wallet card-sized piece of paper that I'm supposed to cut out, titled "Registration Acknowledgement". It has my selective service number, address, SSN and a last action date.

The thing is, I don't remember applying for selective services (though I know I was soon going to need to do so). I applied for a Driver's License around the time of the "last action date". Is it possible that doing so automatically registered me for Selective Services?

When I go to SSS.gov and type in my information it says I'm registered. I was even able to print an official letter of verification from their site.

I just want to make sure I'm not supposed to do anything else (since I don't remember registering in the first place).

Is this normal? :P

Yes it's normal. You were automatically registered when you applied for AOS and were under the age of 26 at the time. It states USCIS will do this on the bottom of the form. My husband got a letter too.
