Hi,

How many times can I reschedule my oath ceremony before getting into trouble?! I asked for a reschedule due to travel plans and they did, to a date just 3 weeks later when I will be out of the country and not the dates when I would be back. I cannot change my plans as I am travelling for medical reasons.

I plan on asking for another re-schedule but I suspect they don't read the reasons in the notice and just re-schedule to the next available date. Which means my husband will need to send in one more notice in my absence.

Their site recommends you don't re-schedule more than once. Just curious if anyone else did and what were the repercussions?

Thanks.

Make an InfoPass appointment. Take your travel itinerary and write a cover letter explaining why you are out of the country etc.

an FYI. Until you take the oath you are not a US citizen.

Thank you. That is good advice. I could not find too much information on people who had to re-schedule multiple times. Best not to find myself in that situation and go talk to someone live who can help me.

What makes it complicated is that even if I can get an American passport in 24 hours to travel, it would take me over 30 days to renounce my Indian citizenship and get a visa to travel to India. I would have to essentially give up my travel plans.
