Not only that I saw a poll today that shows 60+% support Immigration reform.

That's a "loaded" poll then. To the average American, "immigration reform" means a) making it easier for folks like us at VJ to get our loved ones into the country in an orderly fashion, and b) that the country remains sovereign; ie: that the borders are under control, and that existing laws are enforced (in contrast to what's currently happening, thus 'reform'). To the preznit, reform means simply throwing open the borders. It's a stupid poll question, just like the ones that say "Are you satisfied with the direction the US is taking?" Most folks will say "no", but for vastly different reasons.

I'll bet the average American has no clue about the legal immigration process. The media has pounded the airwaves about immigration reform and the average Joe thinks of illegal immigrants when he hears about reform. Your myopic views don't let you see the forest for the trees.

ya, immigration reform to benefit illegal aliens? no - no - it's just wrong.

I've written much about it in the past - but - dammitt, Gumby, the advanced search tool has been 'tardo'd, I think Cap'n Ewok is smoking something.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

E-Verify and fines for employers who employ illegals would have gone a long way towards controlling the problem years ago. Of course neither party wants that.

IMO - with 2 extra steps, to engage the USCitizens to do 'this' work, the illegal alien population would wither and scamper.

But we keep forgetting about one massive problem - Hispanic USCitizen women marrying illegal alien men, met at the Spanish-Only Nightclubs on the weekends. If only their fathers would step in and just say no ! [no, I'm not kidding]

How do you propose to stop that?
