Hello everyone!

I am a college student (born in USA) and my boyfriend is here (USA) on a F1 visa. I am totally in love but between researching this whole process and reading all of you guys posts, I must admit, I'm a little worried. We haven't been together for a long period of time and I don't want to sound corny (don't really believe in "love at first sight") but I have NEVER been with someone who has been a true friend and to love me this pure. And the first time we met oh my Lord! Ok not getting carried away! I'm here to ask you all, will not having a lawyer make things a bit more complicated? And when we get married what is the fist paper we should file? Also he has to stay in school due to his visa but after marriage he wants to get a better job to take care of me and take less school hours. He has been paying for his education, apartment, and all other expenses all by himself and I'm sick of seeing him struggle just to stay here and he is near his breaking point. I don't want him to go back to Africa actually I will not have him leave me and I know he doesn't want to, so I am here to help him and begin our life together. I know it is a hard process but I do believe it will be worth it. Please give me input and feel free to voice your opinion on how we should go about this process. Thank you

since it's allowed, look into Adjustment of Status, instead of chasing a K-1 visa.

Get on a PC, read the Guides Section, nowish.
