Can a war have an impact on a visa?

Hello all,

I just spoke to my fiance and he told me that Israel and Syria will probably have a harsh and evil war sometime during the summer time. I am planning to send my I129F papers sometime in the beginning of March and if there are no RFE and everything goes smoothly then I am hoping that within 4-5 months he should have his interview which will be summer time. What are the chances of him getting approved during that time especially that he thinks the possibility of him going to the war in Israel are pretty high since they didn't ask him to go last summer. Any advise on anything? Please help!

I know it's not 100% sure yet about the war but it's making me crazy with all the worries.

12/14/09 - I-751 mailed

12/23/09 - Check cashed

01/03/10 - I-797 NOA received for biometrics appt

01/26/10 - Biometrics appt.

Is your concern that he would not get approved if the country is at war? There is no relationship between the two. If the consulate does not remain open, they will make arrangements for another consulate to handle interviews.

If he is not available for an interview, you would need to find out how to go about postponing it based on his circumstances.

Honestly, I can't see the point of even thinking about this right now. You haven't even filed the petition yet and there is no way to know how fast the process will be or what the future holds!

I am worried that while he's at war he might get his interview date and such and he won't even know about it. I doubt they will let anyone out cause they need the soldiers themselves to protect their country

This is scary

He said the only thing is if we're married and i'm about to give birth then they won't ask him to go to army. He'll be dismissed. ( and if i'm just a fiance it won't work for them)

One would think they would reschedule his interview if he is at war. Again, since you haven't even filed the petition and you have no way of knowing how it will take in the US or in Israel, there's just not much point in freaking out about it now.

I am concerned him going to the war, period!

I don't know how i'll be able to cope knowing he's at war, no phone calls, no computer and etc.
