Thanks Rahma, I'm definitely going to have to take a look at their current offerings. :)

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

melly, did you convert in the last 3 years? If so, check out their free course offerings for new muslims:

http://sunnipath.com/courses/category.aspx?categoryid=1

Introduction to Islamic Beliefs - I highly recommend this one, as it's focused on aqeedah rather than fiqh. I often have felt that new muslims are introduced mainly to the fiqh, the rules, as opposed to understanding God and Belief (aqeedah)

Essentials of Islam (Hanafi)

Essentials of Islam (Shafi'i)

Essentials of Islam (Maliki)

If you haven't picked a madhab yet (hanafi, shafi'i, maliki, hanbali), or don't really want to pick one, check to see what madhab your sweetie is, and take the Essentials of Islam course based on that madhab. These courses focus on the rules, and basic religious practices.

Thanks Rahma. I know at first I was very focused on fiqh and I have finally let go of that (for now) and have been focusing on tawheed lately. That's also alot of what we focus on in my study group.

I have talked to my fiance before about what school his family is. I'm actually not inclined to pick one at all. It might be nice to see all the courses they offer though (for each school) to see what the differences are.

And yes, it's only been 7 months or so for me so I qualify. :D

If you're interested in tawheed, then I definately recommend the Intro to Islamic Beliefs. I *heart* Imam al Ghazali

For the free one day course on Fatiha, or for a semester course? For the one time course, just go to the site around the time it starts, usually 15 minutes after, and there will be a button you can click that will bring the course up.

For the semester long class, click on this to see how online courses work and click here to see how to access your courses when they begin.

I signed up for the free Essentials of whatever course but when I login and click on my courses I get nothing. I sent them an email. Maybe it takes a day to process or something. Oh well, I'm too tired to read anymore important stuff today anyways. :)
