I received a welcome letter the day after our case # was assigned. I think it really depends. If you aren't in a rush I would do like you said and wait past the 42 days if you haven't heard anything give a call. Good luck with selling the business!

10-24-14 : I-130 sent from South Africa to Chicago Lockbox

11-03-14 : NOA1, Case Transferred to California Service Center

11-24-14 : NOA2

NVC

12-12-14 : Case received by NVC

01-15-15 : Case # Assigned

01-15-15: DS-261 completed

01-20-15: AOS fee invoiced & paid

01-21-15: Mailed AOS & IV Packages

01-22-15: ORIGINAL SCAN DATE- both packages

01-23-15: Sent corrected AOS - caught my own mistake

02-11-15: IV bill invoiced & paid

02-14-15: DS-260 completed

04-01-15: Case Complete

04-16-15: P4 e-mail

05-14-15: Interview Date

05-25--15 : POE, time to MOVE!!!!

Removal of Conditions

I have a PD of 11/25/2014, case is in Nebraska, anybody else in Nebraska have gotten any notification yet?
I am in the US and my husband is in the Dominican Republic, I will be going there to spend Valentines day together and he will meet my daughter then as well, just want to know if I should collect the necessary NVC paperwork then....I am just so impatient, I want him here already lol :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Thanks Kels, so glad to see things move along for you. Yeah we're unfortunately stuck here before we can sell, need the $. Really can't wait to move back home to the Usa. Will make sure I become a citizen this time around! I sent NVC an email for a request anyway, just to make sure it's all in order.

Married 2001, conditional resident 2003, permanent resident 2005.Left U.S 2012, abandoned green card 2013.Applied I-130 Nov 2014, approved Dec 2014. DS260 13th Apr 2015. Docs sent 27 Apr. Scan date May 1. Case complete June 4!Interview July 14th, rescheduled to Oct 20th.  Applied for N400 on November 6th, 2018. I'm the immigrant :)

Question about the AOS...I haven't filed taxes for the past three years so what do I put??? I've seen people say they've put 0, 0.00, didn't file...etc... I just don't want a checklist and am stressing myself out about what to put!

If you weren't required to file, you would so state (i.e. "not required to file" is what you would write).

August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)

October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)

November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

PD November 20th in Nebraska. I hot an RFE Jan the 16th. They wanted a copy of my passport which I had already sent.

I have a question: since NVC does not require sending original documents any more, may I still send originals to them? I have some originals here in US that my father will need to bring to his interview.

Otherwise i have to pay over $100 to send it via DHL...

01-24-2015 Received E-mail Welcome letter

01-26-2015 Received AOS invoice and paid

01-28-2015 AOS status changed to "Paid"

01-31-2015 Sent both AOS and IV packages to NVC

02-03-2015 Scan Date

02-05-2015 Received e-mail from NVC that docs received on Feb 3

02-10-2015 Submitted DS-260

02-11-2015 Received a letter from Senator dated Feb 5 (request to expedite the case is approved)

02-12-2015 IV status changed to "Ready", called NVC to confirm that the case was sent to the Embassy

US EMBASSY

02-17-2015 Received e-mail from US Embassy that the case was received (IV fee is due during interview)

02-26-2015 Medical exam

02-27-2015 Received Medical exam results

03-05-2015 Interview

03-06-2015 Case status changed to "Visa issued"

got my case number today ! yay ! they sent me an email, didn't even have to call them. They made a mistake in our last name so we sent an email about that.

I filled DS260, I see that @kels sent all the documents, mine are ready! Just waiting for it to be available! hope it goes fast!
