happy thanksgiving guys hopefully this is the last one wespend away from our loves!!

God bless you all (L)(L):star::content::wub::)

Happy Thanksgiving and Amen to that God bless you and everyone! I'm praying this long weekend ends quickly! :rofl:t5063.gif

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that celebrates it ...

I hope that even though we are all going through this broken process called "legal immigration" we can each find something in our life's to be thankful for.

I am thankful that my husband is on the mend after a motorcycle accident this past Sunday and that he is alive to continue the process of immigrating. Never thought I would be thankful to still be in the process but I am. At least I still have a husband and the need to be at NVC with a checklist

Yes...for the 4th year in a row I am missing my American family,Turkey,Pumpkin pie and the whole shibang...I have next years Thanksgiving to look forward too.

I have a dear old friend that lost his wife last year to breast cancer at just 46 years young and has an empty chair at his table. God Bless every one of you.

((((((((((AmeriDutch)))))))))) scary thought to not have our loved ones still with us and I'm so happy all came out well with the grace of God. Your right, it can be so much worse than it is and I wish I always had the forethought to remember that. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and to everyone, have fun and most of all be safe. :Dt5063.gift4582.gif

I think it would be great to fill a couple of these pages with messages of thankfulness and support to everyone out there - I encourage everyone to post something that they are thankful for and why - hopefully this will help all of those going through tough times and remember to be thankful for the small wins in life. Things that make you smile or things that make you truly happy and joyful. Here I go...

blowing-kiss-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.g
I am thankful for my next door neighbor. She isn't on here but she doesn't know what she does, helping with my two kids (even though she has two herself!) - Sits and has coffee with me while husband is away on tons of business trips across the world. We have even created a little nook in the hallway of our apt building when we can't leave our houses (because our two youngest are taking naps!). Talking and laughing helps.
I am also thankful that I do have my husband here with me and my heart goes out to the many that are separated until this process is over. I am at a loss as to how I'd love to bring coffee to all of you and sit across from you and laugh and cry while you are going through all of this alone. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there!! (L)(L)(L)(L)(L)
NOW IT'S YOUR TURN - FILL THESE PAGES UP WITH LOVE AND THANKFULNESS...IF EVEN FOR JUST A DAY! :goofy:

Mofatsd, what a beautiful idea don't know how I missed this post but thank you so much :)t5063.gif

Let's see, I'm grateful for Skype with out it my husband and I wouldn't be able to talk to each other every day as many times as we wish, I'm thankful for my husband for his understanding on why I had to leave to take care of my parents and has supported me every step of the way, he is such a magnificent and extraordinary human being and I thank God for him. I'm thankful for my parents and family, my parents, they are just the most wonderful parents in the whole world and boy was God smiling on me when he assigned me to them heheheee. Last but not least I'm thankful for all of you who have been here for each other in every way and each of you are special in so many ways, I love you all. graphics-thanksgiving-911063.gif

I'm thankful for the Supreme Court of the United States deciding that, at the federal level at least, my wife and I have the same rights as other married couples. Without that, we would have continued trying to find people in our own countries or would eventually have had to move to a third country and meet there to live together. Thank you for the slow spread of Liberalism that means DOMA fell and us having a life together in a country where we both speak the language is possible, where just 18 months ago it was an impossible dream.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

I am thankful that even though we are in AP that my husband and I have the options to Skype and whatsapp everyday without which I think I would go crazy. I am thankful for my friends and family who have supported me in this long crazy journey even though at first they thought I was completely crazy to go around the world over 8000 miles to marry the one I love. I am thankful for all of the support from all that are on the forums here who give advice and help answer questions when I don't know what to do. thank you to all who help the rest of us. I am humbled to belong to such a wonderful group of people. I hope that you all have a wonderful thanksgiving and that you all remain blessed. those of you who are spending the day with your loved ones hug them a little tighter and those of you like me spending it apart know that we will be with our loved ones in Gods time.

I'm thankful that I get my husband with me for the next 3 months before he has to go back to the USA without me due to a checklist. I'm thankful that this gives me some more time to tie up my loose ends and pack / get rid of stuff. I'm grateful that maybe he can take my dog with him when he goes because he will be wrestling less suitcases. I'm grateful that our checklist was for minor things that are easily remedied so we can just send it as soon as we confirm exactly what they need by phone call tonight (Australia time). I'm grateful for the support of my family.

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Well I tried to post this 3hours ago when it was deleted :/ But I do want to take this opportunity to say I am thankful for the fact that I am still living to see this day. It's been a rough few weeks for me and I have had so many family and close friends to comfort me and show me love which I am eternally grateful for. It's been 2 weeks since our CC yet, there is still no interview scheduled. Nevertheless, I thank God that I have so much faith that I know my husband will be coming home soon. As I write this, I think of the many spouses whose loved ones are gone, or living in dangerous places to the point where their lives can be taken in an instant. Those are the same spouses who live and doubt and may not have the opportunity to ever see their spouse. I am also grateful for Visa Journey. I have sat in silence many a days reading what others have gone through with their spouses due to this immigration alone and it is comforting to know that we are not alone and others very much so can relate to what me and my love are going through with immigration. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.

Eight days after my consular interview, I got finally my passport today (¡¡¡¡it took 8 days living in the same city -Madrid- where the embassy is at!!, crazy!!).

I had everything ready, paid my immigration fee and bought the plane ticket for tomorrow to finally join my husband!!!!

My POE will be New York (JFK) in layover to San Francisco. I have 3 hours before taking my connection flight to SFO...Is that enough?

Any information about how long CBP people take there?

Thank you

Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone here. I couldn't help but think of you all during the holiday yesterday, I know how awful this time of year can be and I just wish so much better for all my fellow international couples. It's such a long, hard road, and missing special days together is salt in the wound. But you'll get there, and your happiness will be all the sweeter for the simple joys and deeper appreciation you'll cherish. I'm thankful to live in a world so full of love worth so much sacrifice. Hugs to you all :)
