:( I know what you mean and I agree, it's good to have perspective. But my feelings are as valid as anyone else's feelings. We also didn't ask for that expedite.

I was not saying your feelings are invalid, just trying to look at the bright side. Apologies if I was unclear. ;)

I know you didn't ask for an expedite, but what a stroke of luck! I would have given anything to get through USCIS in 11 days versus 9 months. :wow: I am sure you have perspective and are thankful for your quick timeline and the fact you are with your spouse. I am just trying to shine a light on the positives, as I know I needed reminding when NVC got me down.

Just hang tight and you will have CC and an interview before you know it! All the best. :luv:

EDIT: I didn't mean to sound rude, it's just that I spent like the first month after getting NOA2 apologising for being expedited and making sure I was extremely mindful of my lucky circumstances and others' feelings.

Hey just hang in there. I didn't think we would get our CC as others with later scan dates were getting theirs. Then all of a sudden......

I feel the same, back in july 2013 we got engaged and i was like ok i can make it, I just need to wait till February when we celebrate our wedding to be together, then they denied me to enter and I was crying in front of the embassy waiting for my husband to come out and i was about to Yell like ok where is the hidden cámara!! haha but nop it was reality and reality hurts like a beach, now we are waiting for case complete and then the interview, isnt crazy how our lives are depending on some random CO and if the CO decides we can be separeted even more??

I mean I get really mad haha but I am sure this is a blessing in a sort of way, maybe I decide to go to law school and fight for our rights as future citizens of the USA, maybe I decide to write a book and name it 50 shades of NVC and the book becomes a best seller and they make a movie out of it. The name of the principal carácter will be Soloenta of course.

Anyways

I am praying you get an interview earlier so you can be with your husband..

we dont celebrate Thanksgiving in Mexico but ill be baking an Apple pie cause im sure it will go good with my feelings!! (L)

It's so hard though, I don't understand why ours would take longer when it is so straightforward :(

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm torn between them being idiots and doing this on purpose but I have seen this before. You'll see before you know it paid will turn to N/A mark my words. I say this week, just looked at my crystal ball. crystal-ball.gif And dear heart I know it's not easy I struggle with it every day, I truely wish I could hold your hand and be there with you until you get the great news. :) Love you girl! t5063.gif

Unfortunately, my laptop is actively dying. At best it has a few more days. We need to buy me a new laptop before the forms are ready on NVC. It was very unlikely we would be able to afford me going down for Christmas to start--she has to move in January because the crime rate at her apartment complex has skyrocketed and so we are househunting right now--and now it is entirely out of the question. Plane tickets are just too expensive at Christmas time and we're buying a new laptop on Friday. I feel sad that she's having to do all the work of picking our new home on her own while having a full time job and keeping up with her studies. I'm honestly guessing it will be April or possibly even May by the time I get down there at this point, though I am trying to stay positive.

I do NOT understand why this takes so long. The system is so incredibly inefficient. I just want to walk in there and fix it. For example, in this day and age, why are the files not all digitized at USCIS when they are being scanned for completion? There are more service centres at USCIS level. It would make sense to digitize the file and when they scan the barcode at NVC, this downloads the digitized file at NVC. Automate case number generation (computers CAN DO THIS!). The digitized file is now scanned and ready and the case number is generated in the file at arrival at NVC. The hardcopy file is there if there are any questions and for reference should it be needed. This would shave weeks off of the time at NVC and there is absolutely no reason why it should extend the time at USCIS as all the data is clearly in a computer at USCIS or we wouldn't get 'your X has been updated' messages.

Instead, NVC informed me today that they have to scan in the actual sheets of the file manually at NVC.

Before anyone says 'but what about security! They have to keep it on a file separated from the internet or all of our data is insecure!' I can say right now that our data at USCIS is on a server connected to the internet or else we would not be able to get email case updates. Even if this WERE the case, they could easily put the information on harddrives or thumbsticks and send these to NVC. NVC receives a crate of files, plugs in the harddrive or thumbstick and boom, the data is on their servers.

The fact that this is not the case is ridiculous.

When it comes to the generation of case numbers or opening of forms/payments online, it makes no sense that this is done manually. It should be done automatically by computers. Now that the AOS and IV packages are to be sent at the same time, there is absolutely zero reason why the two fees should not automatically be opened as soon as either a) case number is generated or b) the DS-261 is completed, whichever they prefer.

This would mean that the only manual tasks to do at NVC would be receiving and verifying the AOS and IV packages and verifying the information in the DS-260. Increasing the efficiency by digitizing so much of the tasks would free up agents to actually work on the things that require humans.

But no, they're probably operating Windows 98 computers and we're paying for the privilege of having our cases sit untouched in boxes for weeks or even months at a time.

I agree, but to be honest I don't think they want to improve but to have reasons for delays. Their immigration reform is amnesty for illegals mine are as stated by you above. They will never change if they can avoid it, it's not their intention to help us through this nightmare but to help make I worse.

One of the reasons they put people on AP is what? To do further criminal activity checks on I would say most of them, really now a days they know how many times we have farting_smiley.gif with agency's like Interpol etc. They do it because they can.

All I can do is pray and I will continue to do so until we are all out of here. :Dt4582.gif I will keep you and your wife in my prayers in hope that you will soon be reunited much quicker than you ever hoped. :D

:( I know what you mean and I agree, it's good to have perspective. But my feelings are as valid as anyone else's feelings. We also didn't ask for that expedite.

EDIT: I didn't mean to sound rude, it's just that I spent like the first month after getting NOA2 apologising for being expedited and making sure I was extremely mindful of my lucky circumstances and others' feelings.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you were not rude at all and yes your feelings as as valid as everyone else's. We can't force the heart to not feel what it feels so no apologies at all. You misunderstood Amanda she didn't mean it the way you think. And I've known you long enough to know your heart, your an angel and I'll continue praying that this process end this week for you. t5063.gif

Great group to be with and grateful our friends are with us to celebrate when we get CC, God willing soon.

Many have said they would be with us until we got our CC and out of immigration but I know life gets in the way. I want to thank those that made the extra effort

to come and see how we are all doing. I know it's not easy once your out of here but it warms my heart and soul to know there are people that care so much despite the constraints of life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. t5063.gift4582.gif I love you guys! t45130.gif

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you were not rude at all and yes your feelings as as valid as everyone else's. We can't force the heart to not feel what it feels so no apologies at all. So I'm confused with the Visa Journey FB page - do people actually update there? I have sent a request to add myself days ago and no one has even accepted me. Am I trying to add myself to the wrong page? The days are getting closer and I need as much data as possible to know when to call NVC! :)
