It was really nice. I went to agha khan hospital. They took my height and weight first. Then bp pulse etc. then did eyesight checkup. And then the doctor did a physical exam. They had taken my cxray and blood test fr syphillus the day before and the doctor informed me all was clear. Then did the vaccinations :) the physical exam hardly took 2 min (doctor was in a hurry) ;) lol. I will collect the envelope Tomm :) ur wife lives is islamabad right?

What's ur interview date?

That's great to hear that you were done in a reasonable time. So it means there are no surprises during the physical exam lol. Yes, she is in Islamabad. Her interview date is December 16th (Tuesday). I have heard that there will a big political protest in Islamabad on November 30th and my wife's medical is on December 1, hope things will be okay. I am really keeping my fingers crossed. She will be going to Aziz Medical Center.

My wife's eyesight isn't the best, so I keep seeing everyone has eye exams done and it makes me nervous because she uses glasses and can't see clearly unless with them on. I know millions of people use glasses, so I shou be nervous, but what is it they're looking for in the eye exam? Can anyone elaborate?

I can't speak for the DR, but in my medical I was allowed to keep my glasses on for the eye exam. I'm blind as a bat without them :)

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

All the physicians do comprehensive checkup but it is not required for US Visa. They will only delay/deny visa due to communicable or psychiatric/psychological medical reasons.

Don't worry at all. I wear glasses. They did the eye test without them and then with. For me it was just a matter of reading the big to small letters on the eye chart. Your wife will be fine. Make sure she has her glasses with her though.

My wife and i missed two questions out of all the questions they asked us after been seperated....Am so scared and afraid. The IO officer later told us they will mail us for either another interview or their final decision after they review our case....Am yet to hear or see any mail from the Immigration office....Just very disturb right now.....

Officially hit the 30-day mark today!! I'm hoping for a CC by no later than the 60-day limit (12/22) BUT praying for an earlier date (like the one The BigO gave me with his math prediction....that's insane how math can be used even for this!).....

Really hoping NVC speeds up b/c they were super duper slow this week starting on Wednesday. Who knows what happened....they were fast Monday & Tuesday and then it seemed kinda dead on here the rest of the week!

They're getting ready for vacation, going over how to do nothing but sit and wait to be feed. :D:yes::pop:

Aww, I was so hoping they'd gotten their shat together and you would be on your way to being with your loved one! You've been in my thoughts, hope you get good news soon sweetheart! (L)(L)(L)

All good here, still waiting for the actual card :star:

Thank you so much I appreciate your kind words and keeping me in your thoughts.

So happy all is well with you and waiting for the green card just gives you more time to enjoy each other. :Dt5063.gif

Thankyou my love!! I am desperately waiting for ur cc!! So we can celebrate together and say good bye to horrible Nvc once and for all!!!

Awww thank you my sweet sister, thank you for everything and I would love to celebrate the end of this torture with you. God willing it will happen! Love you girl!t5063.gif

Don't know if you have been answered but having bad eyesight isn't a problem they are looking for diseases so no worries it will be fine. :D :yes::dance:

They are talking About adjustment of status I guess. This nightmare will continue after 2 years again. Thinking of it makes me shudder :|

It's nothing to worry about. Tell her to take glasses. I guess they document eyesight etc so when we get a driving license over there we use glasses then. And it's just a part of routine medical exam. Nothing else :)

Am glad the whole family is very well settled in.

Thanks a lot. I hope i get good news soon.

You can say that again Austin, it feels painful not getting done with the long process. I wish you a smooth POE. Waiting for your review.

Thanks my dearest friend, you have always been a source of strength and hope for eveyone. I can't wait to celebrate your CC, visa approval and a smooth POE. Love you dearest sister.

POE - Done!!! at Douglas (Peace Arch) US-Canada Border Crossing in Blaine, WA!:dance::dance:

After 45 minutes, I'm finally a permanent resident of the USA!:thumbs::thumbs:

My immigration journey has finally come to an end after 13 months. :star::star::star:

I'll post my POE experience later. :content:

We rented a car and drove from Vancouver (Canada) to Seattle to move our moving boxes. :)

But, I'm not in the US now since I had to come back to Canada to return the rental car!:rofl::rofl:

I will finally move to the US for good tomorrow!:dance::dance:

Congratulations Austin. Eager to read your POE review, your interview review was fantastic.

Just to ensure proper terminology is being used for the benefit of others; CR-1 visa holders never adjust status, they remove conditions on residency. IR-1 visa holders never have to deal with the removing conditions on residency process.

EOC sweetheart. How r u doing? I can imagine what u r going through. I pray u get ur approval next week. This wait is a torture beyond words after interview! Please hold on. U r almost there

Thanks Samreen, the wait is even more than a torture. Thinking of all the wait time at USCIS, NVC and now the embassy, i just can't hold back the tears. The nightmare of this immigration process is just way too much to bear.

Just to ensure proper terminology is being used for the benefit of others; CR-1 visa holders never adjust status, they remove conditions on residency. IR-1 visa holders never have to deal with the removing conditions on residency process.

Thank you so much for making this clear, didn't know quite how to put it. :D
