I am thankful to silently watch this thread - Although I am no where near the wait times that some of my fellow VJ'ers have been waiting I find myself having a day like today when I feel like I just want them to speed up and get these few weeks over with. Yes, I am very humble with how fast my papers have been reviewed but that still doesn't help days like these when I just want to go home. I guess perhaps homesick can happen to the best of us - as well as missing-your-other-half-sick as well.

Hope this thread serves as a daily dosage of meds to help cure whatever your waiting for and hope it cures mine for at least a couple more weeks. (F)

so hubby had his second interview this morning as the first one the systems were down at the embassy. We were denied as his passport doesn't have his middle name on it. How is that his fault. he has never had a passport before so how would he know that it had to have that. shouldn't whoever process the passport applications make sure its on there. Please everyone if your spouse/fiancé is immigrating to the USA make sure their passport has their full legal name on it.

They will advice... but its your responsibility to make sure your full name appears on the passport... Most countries issue passport based on Birth Certificate...

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

So sorry about that but did they say he has his Visa but has to have the Passport fixed? If so all he has to do is have that fixed and take it back to the Embassy. God willing that's all he needs to do. t5063.gif

AOS status changed from "PAID" to "N/A" on CEAC website today morning. AOS checklist last scan date Sep 29. Called NVC just now and got confirmation that it's a case complete as of Nov 17. My sincere thanks to the entire VJ family for your tremendous moral support throughout this nightmare of a journey which began on April 30, 2013.

It must be country specific. My passport had only my middle initial and was never an issue anywhere.

Are you sure it was a denial, and not an AP pending getting a new conforming passport? Either way, your husband should have received a letter from the CO explaining the decision taken.

Very true - I did go fast and I think we all have little things to be thankful for (it's what keeps us humble). You've got about the same checklist scan date as my scan date so I'd totally let you win if we were racing to cc :goofy: When it comes to patience you definitely keep us all humble. And I always remember to count my blessings and only send well wishes to everyone else as I hope that's what everyone is sending over my way too! (L)

I know! They have been moving relatively fast through end of september. I am excited and getting nervous as they get closer to my scan date of oct 6th. I keep praying for no checklist. I hope we both get CC by latest next week!!! praying for you Soloenta :)

Very true - I did go fast and I think we all have little things to be thankful for (it's what keeps us humble). You've got about the same checklist scan date as my scan date so I'd totally let you win if we were racing to cc :goofy: When it comes to patience you definitely keep us all humble. And I always remember to count my blessings and only send well wishes to everyone else as I hope that's what everyone is sending over my way too! (L)

I know! They have been moving relatively fast through end of september. I am excited and getting nervous as they get closer to my scan date of oct 6th. I keep praying for no checklist. I hope we both get CC by latest next week!!! praying for you Soloenta :)

Oh thank you so much my dear friend and yes thank God they seem to be moving faster. I'm praying you don't get a checklist also but still think my CC will come later. But wont reject it if it comes sooner than I think :rofl: . Would be nice if we both received CC close to each other. I think Egypt is taking about 2 months to schedule interviews now, used to be up to 9 months or more. Thank you so much for your prayers they mean the world to me, need them a lot for the interview.t5063.gif

Hi all! Interview will be on 12/5. Medical set for next week. We are parying that our family can be togehter soon. Its just heartbreaking that my husband hasnot been ablet to hold his 7 month old son.

Wow! So sorry! So after he fixes it do u just take it there ? How do u get new interview? Did they even ask him any other questions ?

they said the only thing wrong was his passport. and I guess I worded it wrong its not a denial he has been put in ap but they told us not to contact them. I have already sent an email to them about this and asking how to get a new interview set up after we get a new passport. am getting ready now to contact my senator to help get a new appointment set up. they asked all the other questions but only issue was the passport.

It must be country specific. My passport had only my middle initial and was never an issue anywhere.

Are you sure it was a denial, and not an AP pending getting a new conforming passport? Either way, your husband should have received a letter from the CO explaining the decision taken.

i don';t know that it is country specific I have a coworker who's husband is from mexico and didn't have a middle name and they made them get one so he had one on his passport. and your right MoBar65 its AP not denial. wrote in here before I checked the ceac website,
