Just wanted to let you guys know just in case this would help. I noticed my AOS changed on the 13th called and the rep I spoke to said my case was completed on the 12th. My last scan date was Oct. 29 for a checklist. It looks like they are taking about 7 weeks to review checklists from what I have observed thus far. For everyone who is struggling and still going through a rough time my prayers go out to you. May God Bless you all with strength to overcome whatever you are going through.

I made a mistake. My last scan date was Sept. 29 not Oct. 29.

I'm so very sorry about your dear mother and I apologize if I seemed insensitive I didn't mean to at all. Not an excuse but I see so many people getting expedites for the most stupid reasons, like they want to be with their husband for Christmas and they get expedites. It makes no sense at all and their should be a better way so this whole system can work.

I'm sorry to ask but your in Ghana with your mother, taking care of her?

Your frustration with the incompetence of the US immigration is a very valid one and I do understand completely. I hope you everything goes quickly from now on and you get to go home very soon. You and your mother are in my prayers. t5063.gif

Thank you for your comments. I know you did not mean to be insensitive you just were not well informed.

I should've specified what was going on. I am a US citizen I am living in the states. My mom has been ill for a long time however took a turn for the worse the summer. My mom suffers from COPD, cardiomyopathy, Reynauds disease, scleroderma, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and stage III chronic kidney disease. You would not believe how many medicine she's on including a cancer drug for the scleroderma which is quite toxic.

She has trouble walking and barely weighs 90 pounds. (40 kilos). I requested the expedite to get my husband here based not only on that but the fact that to take care of my mom I needed to cut my hours at work obviously. I requested the expedite to have him here not only to help me care for her but so that he could work and relieve some of the financial burden. I also explained to them that he already has a job promised here.

The emotional and financial stress is draining. There is no question about that. And I have just been waiting and biting my time like everyone else. Not complaining thanking God for every day that we're one step closer. I say thank you Lord that they approved him to go to embassy once they review the papers. However, when I heard last night that the Embassy requested further info from me and no one told me, that is when I got angry. Five phone calls and nothing? Not to mention not once did they tell me conditional expedite. And what's worse, is that I have more documentation and I had put that in the original request that I can get documentation from each one of her doctors so I've been sitting on it here because everyone told me we were already granted so why send in more paperwork?

Grrrr

I am still frustrated with them this morning, though not angry. Bc it is what it is

And God is good.. All the time !!!

So this too shall pass

Oh sweet heart how I know your pain, I had to come home and take care of both my parents and my expedite was for the same thing. I just can't do this all by myself and really do need my husband. I do what I can but it's just too much, we live on just shy of half an acre and it's a lot to take care of by myself plus cleaning, cooking, Dr's appointments etc. I'm not complaining I adore my parents and pray they live to be 110. But I have my problems also, while living in Egypt I fell and hurt my left shoulder and both my hands I have nerve damage and sometimes I can't feel half of my hands and typing feels really odd sometimes. But I was denied three times with plenty of evidence for both parents, they just seem to not care. I commend you for your kindness because I am angry, I'm furious how unfair and unjust this whole system is. The difference from one Embassy to another and the power they all wield is just unfathomable.

They are notorious for not telling you what they need, had two false checklists for our AOS but yet it took a long time and three supervisors to have them tell me I needed a copy of my parents marriage certificate, which I find totally absurd. They lied when they told me my mother's co-sponsor AOS had errors I have a hard copy and nothing they said was true. So if anyone knows how you feel that would be me. Also I understand what your dealing with medically I'm a Respiratory Therapist and know well what your and your dear mother are going through.

Thank you for understanding my mistake,my heart goes out to you and know you will and are in my prayers. God bless you for taking care of your mother it's both a blessing and an honor. t5063.gift4582.gif

My interview is 17 days away , my file almost ready just waiting for papers from hubby to fedex ... Bought a huge suitcase (pink one ) and lots of bubble warp for fragile things ..... Russian consulate couldn't provide me with the olive certificate since I'm a permanent resident of Jordan and never stayed more than a month at a time so I asked the to provide me with a document that says that . So yep I'm excited and can't wait for the interview

I am going to stop calling NVC and wasting my international minutes, they are not giving me any answers.

My package was received and scanned sept 29th. I'm positive we will get a checklist. My hubby thinks not.

I found it comforting to not call all the time, I usually called every two days before I was due to get information for AOS or IV. I bet you don't get a Checklist :Dt4582.gif

I'm back from Montreal! My interview was on Monday, but I spent the next two days sightseeing the city. :content:

I now have my laptop computer with me so I just wrote my Consulate Review (Interview Experience)!

It's at the end of my timeline page. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=166483

I'm now waiting for my passport back with the visa. :star: I hope I get it tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

Four hours at the Consulate!! That's more than I did. At least most of it was spent on yoga, not jousting with a clueless and too-pleased-with-himself CO.

Congrats on a successful conclusion to this over-long journey.

Are you saying I will not get a checklist because it's not that common? Or are you saying it because you are so sweet and genuine towards everyone?

I know I'm a total newbie to the NVC process. I know that unlike many of you, I haven't been waiting at NVC for months and months. But.

This whole time, through the wait at USCIS, I kept telling myself 'just hang in there. NVC goes faster and once you get that NOA2, you'll have new things to do and actually doing things is going to help. You're okay.'

Got NOA2 on October 26. USCIS sent me an email that they had shipped our case to NVC on October 31st. I thought for sure that them telling me it was shipped, so quickly, meant I was going to have a long wait for them to receive my case. I've called them every second day this past week and here it is, 2 full weeks after they shipped it and 2.5 weeks after NOA2 and nope, nothing, they don't have it yet.

I just want them to have my stupid case already! I'm so tired of waiting and I know others have waited longer, but it's hard to appreciate that when I spent the first three years of our relationship with no recourse to EVER be with my then-girlfriend-now-wife because of the fact that same sex couples had no immigration rights to the US and she can't leave because of her job and course of studies. I feel like I've been waiting four years--since we met and waited to be able to actually get married because of her work schedule--not just six months.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.
