20 months? Wow that's a long time :(

I'd love to hear if this has happened before

ok so hoping one of you has heard of this or knows someone who has. my husbands interview was this morning. when he arrived everyone was informed that the systems were down and no answers would be given. he had his interview. the CO took his interview letter crossed out todays date, wrote open date on it and gave it back and asked him for his cell phone number. they didn't give him any other paper work except copies of our aos, iv and barcoded receipts. any ideas? I am just so upset to be left in limbo. its been 20 months since I have seen him and I miss him.

We had our interview today and were approved! It was only five minutes long with very simple questions.

One piece of information that might be valuable (or at least was until yesterday): We had our expedite request approved AFTER went sent our original documents. We were worried that the NVC would not send them because, as we know, they are incompetent. However, they were there. So, sometimes the NVC does send all of the documents they have when cases are expedited (as opposed to some of the horror stories that I've read on here).

But, from what I'm reading with the policy change that the NVC will not longer collect original documents, this story may not prove too useful for those in the future.

InshAllah soloenta. God bless u as well and I always have u in my thoughts! I want u to get out of this mess ASAP really!! I want u to move along with us!

Thank you sweet heart I'm honored to be in your thoughts and your beautiful good wishes. I'm grateful. :)http://travel.state....icy-update.html

Direct link to update: http://travel.state....vember_2014.pdf

I encourage you all to read the update. For those that haven't sent your packages yet, time to make photocopies of the civil documents and put the originals in a safe place in time for the interview!!

Please note, this does NOT mean you can send photocopies of the AOS form. The form still has to be an original, with the original signature. As should the employment letter, with an original signature. The optional cover letters should be original as well. Besides that, everything else can be photocopies now.

I'm going to guess that this new change will reduce the amount of checklists stating a document isn't an original (when in most cases it is). Not to mention, the scrutiny of civil documents will be less (I'm guessing), thus speeding up the review process. So, good news everywhere :) "

Thank you sweet heart great information and about time just wish this would have benefited us. t4582.gif

Loved your review Austin, so descriptive. I will forever picture you doing waiting room yoga! And I nearly spat out my coffee when you wrote about how you wanted the new photos because the old ones made your skin look oily! First world problems! Ha hahahahah.

So happy for you and look forward to hearing about the beautiful home you will find in Seattle. xoxo

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Ok need to vent.. Has anyone ever heard of a conditional granted expedite? Meaning the embassy is going to expedite but we still have to wait the 60 days for NVC to review our papers.

I called and spoke with a supervisor tonight after my five previous calls over the last two weeks where I was told our expedite was granted. Never once was I told about this conditional expedite. And on top of that they said the embassy requested more info from me on 28 October. Well of course no one told me that. Not in any of the times I called!! And I have more paperwork here that I didn't send in because they already told me it was granted. And the supervisor told me that if it was a full granted expedite they would have sent my file immediately to The embassy. No waiting the 60 days for them to look at my papers. I am so angry at their incompetence right now. Five phone calls every single one told me it was granted. Nothing about this conditional thing. Nothing about them wanting more information. And now I find this out and we just wasted two weeks?!

Grrrrr. I just want to scream and rip someone's head off!!

Yes I have heard about it many times. Not sure what your expedite is for but, AmeriDutch has health problems and her beloved mother is dying and they denied her. Let us never forget to count our blessings. Just wanted to say that because it can be much, much worse but I do understand your frustration. t5063.gif

Hi there! Sorry to hear about your case... I have this kind of granted expedite...it sucks and I argue a lot (I have a medical condition and lost my health benefits in Brazil, and my hubby pays for it in the USA, so I need to keep the treatment there). anyways, I still need to pass through the whole process with NVC and only after a case complete the embassy will give a sort of priority with my interview. It's hard, but at least it's something. My advice is for you to collect all the papers and send your packages ASAP so the clock will start ticking.

I'm sorry again, but thing positively that at least your wait for an interview date won't be that bad.

:)
