Congrats!!! Your CC gives me hope. My last scan date is Sept 17th. AOS Sept 7th. Hope my case is completed soon...

You should call NVC again as you're over 60 days now. My case has been complete for a week but the CEAC receipt page hasn't updated from PAID to N/A. It's a highly reliable signal when it happens, but it's not guaranteed to happen!

hi robbie. do u know if ur gonna get a december or a january interview date.

Does this email include an interview date, or just confirming Case Complete?

I am hoping for January. I don't really know though.

The email just confirms Case Complete. It says an interview will be scheduled and that we will be notified.

Very slow week at NVC. Doesn't seem like they have moved at all with the dates! :clock:

Indeed this week they slow down :-( and next week I doubt they work faster with a day off. Scan date 9/24.

What are the chances of getting expedited processing and what are the best reasons to state? If there is a resource or previous discussion on this topic - please direct - I will gladly browse through forums. I see from wiki that it's best to ask to expedite before sending paperwork in but after I pay both fees - but how long would they need to look at this request? Thank you!

NVC has the same criteria as USCIS for expediting. You can read theirs here: http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria

Now, for expedites, it's not really NVC that expedites the case, per se. When they receive requests, they forward them to the correlating consulate/embassy and they are the ones that actually decide to approve or deny the request. Once they've decided (the amount of time varies by each country), they'll inform NVC of their decision and thus NVC will inform you of the outcome.

If you're thinking of expediting, I suggest you do it as soon as you get your case number. Depending how long it takes, still fill out the DS-261 and pay the bills. Don't stop the NVC process all together while waiting in case your request is denied (you don't want to waste all that time for nothing).

Thank you for the info, I will try it then, have few reasons to expedite, if it's possible at all.

Does anyone remember (since you all mostly wait for CC now as I see) how did NVC contact you first? Do they contact both beneficiary and petitioner with case number and further instructions, or is it just the beneficiary who receives the notification? Is it regular mail or email? I've read in the wiki that I should provide both emails over the phone when case number is assigned, but anyway - in what way do they contact you first? Thanks

If you don't call them at all, then, unless they have your email address on file, you'll get snail mail. Which can takes weeks to receive. It's better to be proactive and call. If you don't want to call every day, at least call once a week or so, so when the case number is assigned, you can give both email addresses over and then they can start emailing you all the correspondence.

Thank you for your response, I will call twice a week. Today was the first time I've got through, I thought before their phone is not working at all. As soon as I will get that case number I will start tracking DS-261 availability and invoices.

And thank you for keeping this forum alive, It's a lot of work, good work.

Sounds like a good plan

And yeah, calling can be a pain now, as not only do you have to wait for an operator, but you also need to get through first, which can take multiple re-dials from what I've heard here. (It wasn't anywhere near as bad when I went through NVC 3.5 years ago. You'd get through with no re-dialing, and you'd typically only have to wait like 20-30 minutes, less if you know the best time to call).

While you're waiting for the case number, you may want to start working on the expedite email you're going to write up. And depending on your reason(s), get some proof gathered and scan it in, so you can attach to the email when you're able to send it out.

Edit: double post. My mouse at work is crazy and for every one click I do, it likes to do two sometimes :bonk:
