Just a reminder folks: READ THE FIRST POST. I have seen soooo many questions here that can be simply answered if you put some time in and actually READ. Read the first post. Read the wiki. Read the official instructions. Read the official websites. Use some common sense. Most of you are making this process waaay harder than it has to be.

Ok, just got off the phone with the NVC and now they cannot tell me my status other than our case has been reviewed and an email has been generated, but not what it is about. She could not say what it was about even after she put me on hold to double check. Now my nerves are truly shot! Scan date was 9/24 and nothing changed in the paid columns. She did say it would normally say what a problem was if there was one.

Oh, and today is our 1 year anniversary. ..

that's weird, They normally tell you if there is a problem or if its a cc for the most part... I would say try to get through another rep and try again.. good luck! at least they started working on 9/24

For Affidavit of Support Form, if we use 1040 form [and NOT 1040 EZ form], do we use line number 22 [Total income] or Line Number 37 [Adjusted Gross Income] ?

What does it say to use, right on that question on the I-864?

Hey there...I'm sorry for this situation. But if I were you I'd call NVC and ask for a supervisor request. If you're 100% sure you send it they'll find your papers and give a case complete. It can take up to three weeks, but it's better than the whole 60 days again, right?

Best of luck to you!

Congratulations!!

So confused....

After talking to three reps about my case, the last one told me that I'd be better resending the document that has gone missing. She said that if she was me she would send it again before the case is viewed by a supervisor. I SCURD :( I then asked if the 60 days will restart and she said no...it is in route to be viewed by a supervisor...so resend the document so the document will be with the packet when viewed. Makes sense...WHAT IF THEY REALLY DID LOSE THE DOCUMENT?

That means that I would have to wait 30 days for supervisor review + 60 more days IF THEY DON'T FIND IT. What do you guys think?

Overall, I have learned a lot from this forum...thanks for the support...you guys keep me strong!

Mia

Saylin, you are very helpful, but your words can be mean at times. People are different....maybe they have issues reading or simply do not understand. This may seem like a walk in the park to you because of the time you have spent here, but others, like myself, are struggling to understand the process. It is hell to me I tell ya! I am not perfect...just trying to understand...like others.

I have learned...if you don't have anything nice to say...don't say anything at all.

Again, thanks for your support

Use common sense? Was that even necessary?

Mia

Well, rechecked again and this time the say we did not send my wife's birth certificate. And they asked for a tax return that is not needed. The co-sponsor is retired and on S/S. Which does not require them to file a tax return. They have a copy of the S/S yearly statement and the statement on the form explaining it was highlighted.

Spoke to a supervisor now waiting...

Hi everybody, I am new to this forum, just joined.

My I-824 was approved on 10/29 and I-130 should be somewhere at NVC now I hope (I824 was for action on an approved application - to transfer my approved I-130 to NVC). I am on very tight schedule, I have only 3 month to get visa, or better say not to get. I was deported 5 years ago (long story, ICE took me off the green card interview) and now I have I-601 and 212 pending, awaiting visa rejection letter from consulate, they gave me 3 month via RFE. If I don't make it on time I will have to file I-601/212 again and wait another year or more.

My first questions is - what's wrong with that phone number: 603-334-0700 - I cant' reach them at all. Is this the right number to call NVC? I am using Skype (from Ukraine), my wife tried to call from States few times, every time we get disconnected on the first second. One time - like 3 month ago I was able to connect and was on hold for rep but got disconnected and can't call anymore.

Can you please provide any advise on "proper" calling technique? Or am I alone with this problem?

Thank you!
