Hi Guys,

Please i need people with experience on this particular problem to advise me.

i got case complete over a month ago and few weeks ago got my interview date for Dec 19th.

Am originally from nigeria but i live in vietnam!my problem is two months ago my passport

expired and didn't get my new passport on time to renew my visa,by the time i got my new passport

my visa and old passport has expired which makes me an illegal immigrant here. However,it wasn't stated

as part of the document needed from me for my interview.

My question is,will my illegal status here affect me from getting my spousal visa??

You need to be legally resident in the country you are interviewing in. The only exception to that is if your home country does not have a US embassy. Which doesn't apply for you.

There seems to be lot of confusion with Scan Date & CC.

This is what I understand. If someone has different dates for AOS Scan date (Date1) and then IV Scan Date (Date2), then though Date2 is the last scan date, NVC is reviewing AOS documents within 60 days of Date1 and since they are reviewing both together now, they are reviewing IV documents as well and doing CC.

That's why we see some Oct scan dates getting CC, because their AOS scan date is close to 60 days.

Yep! That is totally right :) that's how they did it last month also. But I did see a cc with both scandate of 9/29 so maybe Oct is getting close... Still waiting for my AOS checklist to get review scan date 10/3

I just called NVC, I was told that they received my doc. on October 20, however I sent it on October 3rd.

Until last week every time I called they confirmed they recevied it on October 3. And I received email said:

AMM***********

21-OCT-14

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 03-OCT-14.

We are currently receiving an increased number of approved petitions from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a result, we are experiencing increased review times for documents received.

We expect it will be at least 60 days from the date we received your mail before we complete the review of your documents. We will notify you when we review your documents.

I requested to speak to superviser but like always no one was available.

SO I NEED ADVICE, What can I do?

Thanks all
