Hi everyone, NVC received my case Nov. 5th still no case number, I've called just once a week for the past 3 weeks, and it takes me so many tries to get through. The busy signal is so annoying! lol. Anyway, just a question if anyone happens to know how long it may take for a case number? haven't been able to get through yesterday or today so far & with Thanksgiving this week, I assume today and tomorrow are the last working days for this week for them.

Also I'm trying to get together all my AOS paperwork and had a question about my support. I'm planning on only submitting last years tax transcripts, and my income is stated as $23,300 for year 2013. Will I need a joint sponsor according to the guidelines, I looked up the guidelines and I think I am supposed to go with the household size of 2 (me and my husband who I filed for) its stating that as $19,633. If I plan on only using one year tax transcripts am I cutting it pretty close to that amount? Should I go ahead and take in a joint sponsor? I am currently employed and on track to earn close to 30k this year, I understand they will be looking at current income as well, but with this NVC process already taking as long as it is I don't want to take any chances of them asking for a joint sponsor after I've sent my packets in and further delaying our case.

Thank you any help or advice on this would be appreciated.

when did you file for your husband? I saw on your timeline it was January is that right? because I filed in January and it took 4 month to approved and for NOA2 latter and went to nvc.

you should be fine if you are close to 30k this year you don't have to do joint sponsor. as long as its under poverty line you should be fine. you can use your assest too if you want.

Yes I filed on January 30th at USCIS but for whatever reason it took over 8 months for NOA2. It was stuck in security checks. So finally my file was sent and received by NVC on Nov. 5th. I have a checking account with about 18k in there, would I just send bank statements. I wanted to avoid having to claim assets (bank accounts) because I was going to use I-864EZ and I think, from my understanding, you can only use just your earned income. Cannot use anything else like checking/savings accounts etc.

Nope, doesn't claim him on his taxes. The purpose is just to determine the household size to see if his income is over the poverty line.

If they're no longer his dependents, then he shouldn't need to count them in his household size any longer.

Cool, thanks for the response. Perhaps I'll include some kind of letter explaining why they're on last year's tax, but not including on i-864 household size.

Calling is a pain in the a**e. Who honestly has time? Obviously this is super important but I massively resent having to take an hour out of my already-packed day to call just to be told "it's not 60 days yet".

Just FYI actually, I just called NVC (got through on first try!), the guy suggested still putting them on as household because of the last tax return.
