Our case is in TRANSIT to MTL. The CEAC website stated "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." I know that each embassy operate differently, and I've read the Packet 3 MTL embassy posted. So my question is for those in MTL that gotten their Packet 3; did NVC booked an interview date for you already at this point (TRANSIT)?

11/25/2014 I-129f mailed to Dallas Lockbox

12/04/2014 Receipt NOA 1 via email

12/10/2014 Receipt hard copy NOA 1

12/24/2014 Receipt NOA 2 via checking website

12/26/2014 Receipt hard copy NOA 2

01/20/2014 On hold for ONLY 30 min, got our case# MTL 1234....

02/10/2014 Called NVC (4 times in 3weeks) no update. Checked website in afternoon, IN TRANSIT?!!

02/11/2014 READY. After 21 days of no activity our status magically jumped 2 levels in less than 24hr.

Emailed MONTREAL-IV-DV@STATE.GOV requested further communication via email.

02/17/2014 Got an email response from MTL "Your file is being reviewed. We soon provide you instructions."

03/04/2014 Submitted multiple inquiries with no response! Tired of waiting around, so emailed in Packet 3 with copy of student visa.

03/09/2014 CEAC Status Date changed AGAIN to today. Hope this mean we'll be getting Packet 4 soon.

03/11/2014 GOT PACKET 4! CEAC Status Date changed.

04/17/2014 Interview appointment.

WTH, for 21 days our status stay stagnant (at NVC), then the last TWO days it from IN TRANSIT to today READY! Not that I am ungrateful, but this is very strange. I called and talk to a very nice lady at NVC, even she told me our case is still at NVC, however later that day it was IN TRANSIT then today READY, strange.

So on the CEAC site my status is now showing as "Ready" with the following message:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

Since I do not already have an appointment scheduled does this mean that I will need to wait until a date is assigned to me? Is there something I can do to help expedite that process?

18 DECEMBER 2014 - SENT I-129F TO DALLAS LOCKBOX

19 DECEMBER 2014 - DELIVERED TO USCIS

24 DECEMBER 2014 - RECEIVED NOA1 (ELECTRONIC)

03 JANUARY 2015 - RECEIVED NOA1 (HARDCOPY)

14 JANUARY 2015 - RECEIVED NOA2 (ELECTRONIC)

24 JANUARY 2015 - RECEIVED NOA2 (HARDCOPY)

26 JANUARY 2015 - CASE RECEIVED BY NVC

29 JANUARY 2015 - NVC CASE NUMBER ASSIGNED

03 FEBRUARY 2015 - PACKAGE SENT FROM NVC TO TOKYO

I'm a November filer too and just recently found this page.

I have the same problem as @surf2japan.

The page shows that my status is "ready" but I didn't got any letter or email so far... :(

We're in the same boat. :( :( :(

From my understanding, it depends on your consulate. Egypt assigns interview dates therefore we're waiting for our "PACKET 4" which will give us the interview date. The status will remain in the "READY" state until AFTER the interview (again, from what I was told). Then my understand that it could go from "READY" to "Administrative Processing" to then "Issue" or even "refused" (depending on your interview results).

What's REALLY frustrating for us at this point, is we have NO IDEA how long it will take for us to get our packet 4. The Egyptian consulate doesn't offer any real information either (like most gov't/legal processes). From what I've heard, it's impossible to get anything out of the consulates other than ambiguous information that really doesn't make any difference. So, we're completely just in our waiting phase. It totally sucks.

I'm honestly not sure you can do anything that will expedite the process. But you may want to check with your consulate to see if (like many here) can schedule your appointment or what process is done with your consulate.

I'm very happy to see that many here in our little November filers family are getting approved and getting interviews!! It's awesome!!!

Are the us embassy in my country is sending me a interview appointment or do I can decide the day and time?

I'm not sure about Germany. You may want to check the consulate page (on VJ or their official page) and see if there is anything you can find out.

I tend to also send personal messages to people from Egypt so I can get a bit more detailed information as to what to expect. The open forums sometimes can go on tangents and not really answer specific questions I'm curious about.

Great, ty. Still haven't gotten through -.- but good news nonetheless: as I was drifting to sleep last night I thought maybe notifications from nvc have gone to junk mail and when my fiancé checked, there was indeed a notification saying that our file was received by the Sydney consulate! No case number, but at least we know it's already moved around the globe :)

Finally got through and got all the reference numbers we could possibly need :) My fiance also found a notification email in the junk folder, telling him that the sydney embassy had received our file (two weeks ago *sigh*). Have emailed them with the required info and followed the instructions in the email. On we go! :D
