Good morning everyone,

We got our case number last week through calling NVC. And this morning my fiancé attempted to book his medical for London. We are having to extend things a bit because we never imagined that our case would go through so quickly. We are planning a October wedding, and my fiancé is going fly over and move here at the end of September, due to job, savings, family, etc. So we need to book our medical a bit later out so that we fall within the we have six months to use the visa. So he can use it at the end of September.

But where I'm going with all this is that, he called to book the medical today for the beginning of April. And they only take bookings for appointments 1 month in advance. So I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, if you are in a similar boat you don't call and get told the same thing. So we have to call back in about a month. :dead:

Ok, our case number first 3 letters are MTL now I've done a bit of research, MTL is for Montreal! Yay! I can see lights ahead... Happy!!! ???

Same situation here. Our case has been at NVC since 1/20. I was hoping they'd be sending our case to MTL embassy already.

I've been emailing a couple of people who was in similar situation and one person received a RFE with the following email:

"Dear [beneficiary],

We do not process applications for fiance visas unless you are a Canadian citizen, a landed immigrant in Canada, on employment authorization or are pursuing a full-time academic program of at least a year's duration. If you are in one of these categories, please provide evidence from a Canadian authority.

When communicating with this office, please contact us by email at Vancouverk@state.gov or fax us at (604)688-8537. Please provide your name and case number exactly as shown in this letter.

Sincerely,

Chief, Consular Section"

So be prepare to send them a copy of your PR card and PR confirmation letter. She also told me to request they communicate with you via EMAIL, this would speed up the process.

11/25/2014 I-129f mailed to Dallas Lockbox

12/04/2014 Receipt NOA 1 via email

12/10/2014 Receipt hard copy NOA 1

12/24/2014 Receipt NOA 2 via checking website

12/26/2014 Receipt hard copy NOA 2

01/20/2014 On hold for ONLY 30 min, got our case# MTL 1234....

02/10/2014 Called NVC (4 times in 3weeks) no update. Checked website in afternoon, IN TRANSIT?!!

02/11/2014 READY. After 21 days of no activity our status magically jumped 2 levels in less than 24hr.

Emailed MONTREAL-IV-DV@STATE.GOV requested further communication via email.

02/17/2014 Got an email response from MTL "Your file is being reviewed. We soon provide you instructions."

03/04/2014 Submitted multiple inquiries with no response! Tired of waiting around, so emailed in Packet 3 with copy of student visa.

03/09/2014 CEAC Status Date changed AGAIN to today. Hope this mean we'll be getting Packet 4 soon.

03/11/2014 GOT PACKET 4! CEAC Status Date changed.

You are good to go with the work visa. I read somewhere that you only need to be working there for 1 year. I am assuming "employment authorization" mean work visa.

Hello,

calling them to find out about ur RFE won't help because they cannot tell you what is needed thst information is not provided on their system when you call uscis they will onky tell you that RFE will tell you what info we need from you next to move forward with your case... i got my text email notification on the 3rd of January and my RFE came in the mail two days later 5th... hope you get yours soon :) let us know what your RFE says.. mines was intent to marry letter from my fiancé and I ...

Thanks for the info - I was patient (sort of) and waited for the letter, which thankfully came today! Postmarked 23 January, and I got the email on 22 January, so that's pretty good.

Hilariously (I'm looking on the bright side here), it's for something we've already sent! They've asked for evidence that my fiancée intends to marry me within 90 days of her admission to the US. I guess they overlooked her statement that I included in my original submission. So I have a couple questions for all you helpful people:

  1. They provided an envelope to mail back the requested evidence. Does that mean I need to mail it in that envelope? I had intended to overnight it via Priority Mail, but can I not do that?
  2. I want to include some more evidence that we've met in person (more boarding passes, passport stamps), because I only included my passport stamps from my first visit to see her a year ago. They didn't ask for that, but I'm afraid they might. Is it a bad idea for me to include that with the statement saying my fiancée intends to marry me within 90 days?

Thanks for any help!

So I *think* I have resolved the problem I encountered in my medical! My doctors emailed confirmation of all of my vaccinations to the London medical place yesterday so hopefully I won't have to deal with this again at AOS! Just waiting for confirmation from the medical place that they received this email! Feeling hopeful/relieved!

So, our case has shown ready since 1/23/15, I had her call the embassy to double check if they were to mail packet 3 or if it was to be emailed. They told her it was to be emailed and that it could take 2-4 months? Is that a joke? Tried to call NVC this morning turns out they are closed because of the blizzard. Fingers crossed that the lady at the embassy had no idea what the heck she was talking about. Why in the world would she have to wait 2-4 months to receive an emailed packet 3? Bamboozled.
