Finally some word from USCIS today on our petition - unfortunately it's an RFE! Is it possible to call and find out what they need or will I need to wait for the letter? And anyone know how long that normally takes to arrive?

Seems very coincidental that the day after I called, something happened...

Had my medical today and it wasn't the best experience.

They rejected my proof of vaccinations because of the following...

So for my MMR it says

MMR 1 Complete

MME 2 Complete (date)

and the same with the three dtap's with just the date for the third one and she said because the date for the first ones werent there that isnt enough proof that I've had them. SO FRUSTRATING! So now I'll have to fork out at the AOS stage.... :ranting:

That's incredibly frustrating! Are they able to do a dated blood test to prove that you are immune to these things? Maybe then you can present that at AOS and they will take that as enough proof at that stage? Because I wasn't under the impression that MMR expires (I might be wrong on this).

I'm getting the blood test to prove (or disprove) I guess that I have the antibodies to the required vaccines, as I dont have the records from them all. Then my doctor will boost whatever is necessary per the bloodwork results. Maybe you can get that too!

It should come to the beneficiary in the regular mail I think. It's government, things are never fast :(

I got through to the NVC!!!!!!!!!! Yay! I got my case # and it was put in transit to the consulate yesterday!

They had an email address on file for me that I do not ever remember giving them ever, it was weird. It's one of mine, but not one I want them to use, so they let me update it.

If you call them for your case #, ask for any additional information that they have for you. The lady gave me my Invoice ID and the Beneficiary ID as well, although she said those would be in my packet from the consulate as well.

YAYYYY!!!! YES!!! Happy for you!!! :) :)

Our lovely journey!!

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

10/16/2015: Text/eEmails received from USCIS with receipt number. We received 3.

10/22/2015: Received hard copies of NOA's for I-131, I-765, & I-485.

11/01/2015: Got NOA for biometrics appt (for 11/12/15).

11/03/2015: Did WALK IN biometrics appt - took 15 mins. Person taking said work permit should be in mail in less than 4 wks.

12/09/2015: Got email/text notification for INTERVIEW date.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

06/27/2016: I-485 APPROVED - (FINALLY!!!) / 264 DAYS (8 MONTHS 20 DAYS)

07/01/2016: GREEN CARD RECEIVED

Hi pheebs, I wonder what kind of vaccinations we are required to have?

They didn't think my evidence for MMR and dTap was sufficient. I have had them though.

Originally they told me it was too late to get additional proof but I talked them round. my GP is going to try and email them the proof they want but said they're not sure if it is their 'policy' to email confidential information (even though its about ME and I requested it!) so I may just need to deal with it at AOS, really don't want my medical results to be held up... sigh.

I'm getting so discouraged about this whole process. It's two months today since USCIS received my case and not a word, not even an RFE. I didn't think it was a complicated petition but watching other people get approved has me wondering why ours is just sitting. Is it because we're a same-sex couple? Because I'm divorced? It's just such a bummer. And I know other people have been waiting longer and I feel for all of you!

We seem to be in the same boat... It has now been 2 1/2 months since we sent the I-129F and still no word of the NOA2 or anything else.. So many other Nov. Filers are finished and even married by now... We of course have wondered if it is held up because we are same sex too??? Some folks assured us that the immigration dept will not discriminate. This is probably true since we have seen on VJ several other same sex couples approved already and now living/married here together... It just makes you wonder though...

Well, good luck and best wishes to you and us all...

This makes me sad to think it would be a discrimination act. :(

I, too, feared that could be a possibility-I'm sorry you haven't received anything yet. Has your case been "touched" at all?

Hi Guys...

Nope! Have not heard a word since receiving the NOA1 in November... We really don't think it is because we are same sex causing the delay... More than likely the new immigration laws Obama put in place for illegal aliens has inundated the immigration agency's personnel.. As a USC and going through all the legal methods required I am disgusted that these new laws should affect those of us who are doing it right and causing so much grief and anxiety... Grrrrrr...
