Hi! My fiance and I filed our k1 petition last November 20, 2014 and he received a letter from the uscis last December 12, 2014 stating that they received the money order and they will process the case. Yet until now we're still waiting for the NOA1... While reading the other stories here they got the noa1 so fast especially they are petitioning their fiancee in the PHILIPPINES and the letter was from CSC. <_<

Hey guys! So we called NVC last week to hopefully get our case number and they told us the "It could take 35 days" so we decided to call today and we are happy that we got our case number.. :)

Question tho, on the case status it says "READY" with the following lines:

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have received interview scheduling instructions."

Based on topics in this forum, I have to receive a letter from the NVC/Embassy? BUT, I haven't received any letter yet... Soooo, what's the next step? lol

That's awesome! You may have better luck with asking this question in the Philippines-specific forum - because I know that I can send my documents to my consulate in Montreal without waiting for their letter if I know they have received my paperwork, but things are different in different places.

Hi musique,

As andymack said, different consulate send different things. Egypt's "post/mail" is very bad, so they send an email for the PACKET 3 instead of an actual letter. Below is what they sent us:

From: "Consular, Cairo IV" <ConsularCairoIV@state.gov>

Date: January 12, 2015 at 3:58:25 AM PST

To: (whatever email address they have on file for you)

Subject: (YOUR CASE NUMBER HERE)

Please prepare the following documents for each person applying for a visa and send them to our office via Aramex courier service:

1. Photocopy of passport (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)

2. Photocopy of birth certificate

3. A copy of your divorce certificate (If previously married and divorced)

4. Police certificate from your country of nationality if you are 16 years old or older

5. Police certificate if you lived in a different country for more than 12 months and you were 16 years or older at that time.

6. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the Petitioner and notarized before either a noBetary public in the U.S. or a consular officer at the embassy.

7. Petitioner’s most recent year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only). Please also bring the most recent W2 form and a job letter indicating current salary and length of employment

8. Medical exam for applicant as attached, medical examination report should be submitted on the day of the visa interview. Applicants are advised to schedule their medical examination 3weeks prior to the date of their visa interview.

9. Applications: DS-160 application online application form: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/, please print the confirmation page and send it along with the documents.

10. 2 photos face view photos with a white background for the applicant

11. Fees: Login to your profile at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg, print your deposit slip ( CGI ) and pay the fees 265$ at your local CIB bank.

Upon receipt of the required documents, we will schedule an appointment for the final visa interview on the first available slot.

So, we've gathered everything and now he's just awaiting my Form I-134 form (which I sent yesterday). Also, sometimes different consulates ask for different things. For example, it is NOT required to "notarize" the I-134 form but Egypt specifically asked for that. So irritating. But hey... we're progressing. :)

That's awesome! You may have better luck with asking this question in the Philippines-specific forum - because I know that I can send my documents to my consulate in Montreal without waiting for their letter if I know they have received my paperwork, but things are different in different places.

andymack, that is GREAT!!!! I wish we could do that!

Ke&abdi thanks for sharing your story, I have been driving myself crazy thinking about did I send enough information with the I-129f petition that I sent 11-17-2014. I am trying to be patient and wait out this long process. And I am missing my fiancé like crazy too. So I planned a trip to visit him for a few days, and I really can't wait to see him. • Placed on Request online for RFE hardcopy to be sent by mail on September 14, 2016
  • As of October 4, 2016 Still waiting for RFE hardcopy to come in the mail, called USCIS on September 30, 2016 no help.
  • As of November 3, 2016 We received an email in regards to not receiving in the mail the Request for Evidence (RFE) , come to find out they really didn't need any additional information. So now the have to wait another 120 more days before we can get an interview or approval. This is some BS.

So excited to hear of the progress with everyone!

My fiance completed the work for packet 3 and mailed the info back in today. The embassy shoudl recieve it tomorrow and she is going to call in the afternoon to make sure it got there. Hopefully they turn around packet 4 asap and we find out the interview date. We have everything needed except for the medical and she already talked with the medical office and they said she would be able to have the examine within a day of getting packet 4 and they would need 7 days to create the report. So we are hoping that she can have the interview scheduled during the first week of Feb. I will actually be flying to Hong Kong because we are having an exgagment party for all of her friends on Feb 7. So if by chance she could actually have the visa by then we are going to plan to fly back home together. This is truly so exciting and it is awesome to hear the other stories as well. Thanks!
