Hahaha it has been quiet :) I'll give you an update because I have 30 min left at work.

I ordered my wedding dress yeah!!!! (I love BHLDN so hopefully its nice, if not I have months to figure it out.)

I did write both senators in Fl along with my local representative about the processing difference between TSC and CSC, it probably won't make a difference since I'm at the beginning of our journey, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. What I did discover was that each of their websites had an option to ask for help in the visa process. Legally in Fl their office has 30 days to respond to your inquiry. So even if I get a brush off, it feels like I did something. Also, was reading old forums and a previous USCIS officer had a Q & A, apparently if the USCIS gets a request from your state's senator, they have up to 48 hours to respond to the inquiry and move your case to a special "dont' F this up file hahahaha So for all of the frustrated people it's worth a 10 minute note to see if anything happens. Happy Thursday!

Wow! I haven't even thought of planning yet (I know who's going to be in the wedding and where - if it's actually available). I'm actually thinking of maybe starting to plan once he gets the visa. He won't be arriving for a couple of months after he receives the visa, so I figure instead of 90 days to plan we could have at least 5-6. I feel like I really can't start planning because I have no clue when (or if) the visa will be approved. I'm sure it'll all work out though :)

Congrats on getting your dress :)

We're doing Vegas too.. It's quick and easy and inexpensive.. lol

My daughter has picked out her flower girl dress already... but I'm still trying to decide.... Just immediate family since my fiance's family is in Egypt and more than likely won't be able to make it.

Yes, we officially gave up trying to plan anything :) He has five sisters in Ireland and my family is small here so it'd be too much for them to fly over and my mom kindly offered to watch my child while we flew to Vegas then came back and did a little fishing in the keys. (My mom lives far away so it's an expensive trip for her too.)

Let me know if you do Vegas before us how it went :)

11/15/2013- Met John

Will do! I'm actually a history freak so I picked the "oldest/first" wedding chapel in Vegas and we're going to do it there (more than likely). I think we're going to do a family dinner after and that's about it. We want to save for the honeymoon vacation as that will be a lot more expensive.

What sucks about the honeymoon is we can NOT go abroad. Once they're here they can't leave until they get all the AOS paperwork done. Oh well... We have 50 states to choose from. LOL

I'm thankful that me nor my fiance doesn't really want the traditional big wedding. Vegas was easy access, inexpensive, and readily available as soon as he gets here.. which is GREAT.

I won't be buying my dress until his visa is APPROVED. But my daughter is TOTALLY stoked to be a flower girl... So she picked out her own dress and everything. She wants gloves and a flower basket ("not the flowers you hold Mommy.. the basket"). LOL. She's planning it more than I am. LOLOL But I'm grateful for that. :luv::luv:

I wish I could not have the traditional wedding, but I'm a sucker for it. I've always been that girl who's dreamed of her day (cliché... I know), but it will be a little different than I imagined since we're mixed-faith... no biggie, though. I'm just hoping everything works out and everything I want for that day is available.

Now if it were up to him, I'm pretty sure he would be OK with just a courthouse wedding :)

Super cute about your daughter. That's awesome that she's a part of the wedding and that she's been over to Egypt (if I remember correctly)!

Just checked USCIS and we've been approved!!!! :dancing:

I meant to ask...did the website get updated before you received any electronic notification? I assumed that they were connected (i.e. updated website automatically sends out a text or email). And if so, how long did it take between reading the update on the USCIS site and getting the notification?

Just makes me wonder whether it's worth checking online from time to time even if no notifications are coming through.
