Thanks for the nice words, people!

So the NOA1 email suggests making a USCIS login only after receiving the paper copy of the NOA1...what do you think the reason is? I can't see how it would be any different making it a few days earlier?

(I did already make one without the paper copy as my fiance is out of state right now and can't get his mail. There is no way I can wait until he gets back!)

I think we made ours before the NOA1 hard copy arrived and it doesn't seem to have caused any problems :)

Dustin can come to visit me anytime, but he won't be able to come for holidays, cause he will only have few days free from work and he can't take more, cause he took 3months this summer when he was here. So i hope i will be able to go there.

We are hoping for a late October wedding too! A religious ceremony in Canada on the 17th or 31st with a civil ceremony in Chicago after entering on the K1...I know we're taking a bit of a risk, with all of the paperwork needed AFTER the wedding, but I figure if we keep it to only booking the church and venue until we know how our visa is progressing, we won't be losing out on too many deposits if things take too long.

I'd like to do that, but actually half her family already live in the US, so we're going to hope for the best and keep the wedding on as tight a budget as we can. Including DIYing a lot of stuff.

Hello! Congrats!

Nothing yet :(

Hoping you get something really soon!!!

Are you able to have a ceremony prior to the fiance entering on the K1? Or is what your planning not actually getting married, but just a blessing? I'm just curious as to what we can and can't do with K1 visas!

Tell me about it, weddings are so expensive! I think we are going to get married in a courthouse and then save up for our "real" wedding over the course of the next year. -_-

No, no. No blessings or weddings until after K1. In the perfect situation in my brain ( ;) ) I will have entered on K1 by June the latest, and do a civil ceremony almost right away. I am hoping that will give me enough time to file for AP, so that I can have my paperwork in order to head back to Canada by October for the religious ceremony or blessing. A girl can dream, right? hahaha
