How can you get a message from USCIS??? I couldn't do it on the website because it was asking for receipt number and I didn't have one.

They message you when they receive your petition. And if you filled out the one form for notifications (sms and email) forgot what its called ;)

ahahaha.. I have 20 notifications from this thread :)

I love that everybody is as eager as I am to know updates on the application/s :D

I hope we get NOA2 soon. I saw from October thread, they get approval as fast as 12 days from NOA1 :dancing::dancing::dancing:

we ´ve just recieved an email from USCIS saying that our case is accepted and routed to california , is that what they call NOA1 ? lol

It means your NOA1 is in the mail, so essentially yes! Although of course you need the mailed copy for future reference :)

I just received a message from Uscis. Is the case number the receipt number?? And is that the noa1??

It is indeedy! Hard copy of NOA1 should arrive in the mail shortly.

When you get your NOA1 you will have a receipt/case number which you can type in!

Hi! Another question.. Would having a history of denial of visa have an effect on the K1 visa???

I don't think so. Isn't there a place on the i-129f where you can mention previous visa denials? I could be mis-remembering... but essentially as long as you were honest I don't think it's a prob.

How mean of them to deny you the F1 that must have been so frustrating!

Yeah it was depressing too.. I was really looking forward to doing college over in the US. It's fine now though.. After some months, I decided to still do further continuing education here. :D

As for the I-129F, I didn't notice whether they have that in the form.. I will have to check.. But I do believe it will be indicated on the DS160. (I used the same form for the Tourist and the Student Visa :D )

What's happening everybody!

I've been browsing the forums since I proposed to my fiancé and the wealth of knowledge on here has made my process of filing my I-129f very painless.

I sent my package out on the 28th of October and it was received by USCIS on October 31st. My application also got sent to the California Service Center so that was encouraging given the horror stories at the Texas Service Center...but it might be because my fiancé lives in California. Either way I'll take the good fortune!

Best of luck to everybody on their journeys, I hope that you all get K-1's in due time and get the spend the rest of your lives with the one you love.

Thank you. I think I saw that section too. But couldnt remember if I put anything down since my lawyer took care after I gave her information. Still waiting for NOA1 now. This is not fun at all.

January 14th 2016: Two year Green card received -phew!

August 8th 2017: 90 day window begins! ROC time!

September 28th 2017: Biometric Appointment in Portland, OR

March 5th 2018: Case received by local office

August 18th 2018: 18 month extension letter mailed

December 2018: Case moved to another office

February 2019: I was emailed that I was approved and my card was in production the same day of my N400 interview 😂

August 8th 2018: Window opens to submit naturalization application

August 13th 2018: N400 Application submitted online 

August 14th 2018: NOA1

September 6th 2018: Biometrics

February 6th 2019: Interview Date! APPROVED!

February 6th 2019: I was asked to return later the same day for my Oath Ceremony! :dance:
