Oh damn!!! i am so sorry to hear this.. :ranting::protest: . This is ridiculous. i know the process sucks… but its a formality. I am sorry. it will work out though

I am so done with this process. I have to go back to London tomorrow to sign the ds230 because the computers were messed up Monday and they haven't got my fingerprints. Another £80 on rail fare and a work day lost.... :(

Hi Guys,

Please i need people with experience on this particular problem to advise me.

i got case complete over a month ago and few weeks ago got my interview date for Dec 19th.

Am originally from nigeria but i live in vietnam!my problem is two months ago my passport

expired and didn't get my new passport on time to renew my visa,by the time i got my new passport

my visa and old passport has expired which makes me an illegal immigrant here. However,it wasn't stated

as part of the document needed from me for my interview.

My question is,will my illegal status here affect me from getting my spousal visa??

It may if they ask to see your Vietnam passport. Which passport have you used in your documentation?

You need to be legally resident in the country you are interviewing in. The only exception to that is if your home country does not have a US embassy. Which doesn't apply for you.

So incredibly frustrating when you are throwing money down the drain paying for a hotel. I guess the only upside is you haven't had to rebook flights or anything, but still! Not cool Montreal, not cool.

I have a feeling your passport is going to arrive in the next 48 hours and you will be crossing the border into WA state on Friday. Yay!!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine got his passport back from Montreal, but there was a mistake!

He had to send his passport back to the Montreal Consulate and it caused a 4-week delay!

I thought the Montreal Consulate was different (more efficient and reliable) from NVC. :protest:

Nope, there are no good guys in the immigration process! :ranting:
