hello VJ Member and Dwheels76,

we have our interview on December 11 but i send all the documents to NVC as well but still confused with the list they sent me please advise me. i copied that letter last past here. any advise so which documents i need? Thanks in advance

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not you submitted them to the NVC. Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are still required to bring theoriginal document to the visa interview.

Refer to the Document Status Code Definitions on Page 3 to determine the meaning of the document status codes.
Document Name Document Status CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS C 1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 R
1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 2 R
2 - PASSPORT Y
3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE O
4 - ADOPTION F
5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE O
6 - MARRIAGE TERMINATION F
7 - COURT RECORDS F
8 - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE Y
9 - MILITARY RECORDS F
10 - PAKISTAN POLICE CERTIFICATE X
FEE PAYMENT $
PHOTOGRAPH Y
PETITIONER MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE F
- PETITIONER BIRTH CERTIFICATE F

If you look at the page before this one it lists what the letter codes mean. Look at them beside each other and you'll figure it out.

(A) Obtain this document and present it at your interview
C) You must bring this entire interview letter to your interview
(D) The NVC sent this form or document to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate
F) The NVC did not request this form or document
(G) You withdrew your I-601A, Application for Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver, with USCIS
(H) You must obtain two passport photographs of yourself and present them at your interview
(I) This form is incomplete. You must present a completed form at your interview.
(O) The NVC sent this form or document to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate
(P) You must request this police certificate from the issuing authority. After you submit your
request, the issuing authority will send the certificate directly to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate
for your interview.
R) You submitted the Immigrant Visa Application online
(S) The NVC only received a scanned document. You must present the original document at the time
of your interview.
(T) You must present an English translation of this document at the time of your interview
(U) You indicated this document was unavailable. The consular officer will decide whether to waive
the requirement for this document at your interview.
(X) This document is unobtainable
(Y) The NVC sent this form or document to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate
($) Payment received
(+) The NVC returned this document to you per your request. Present this document at your
interview.

I've gone ahead and copy/pasted the code list here.

Editing to add now that I've looked and cross referenced, you don't need to worry. NVC sent everything to the Embassy so they have it. Just bring any copies or originals that you have with you to the interview. There's really nothing to it.

My wife just got approved at the interview at Ho Chi Minh City Consulate, Vietnam :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Thanks all for your sharing knowledge and support

BTW, after getting approval, they gave her the approval notice. It's a white piece of paper. I read from some vietnamese forums that the approval notice is pink. Why is hers white? Does the color of paper mean anything?

phewwww...Thank you very much for the clarification.

In the approval notice, it says going to ustraveldocs.com to register the mailing address to receive the visa. However, they already asked her to fill out the mailing address in some kind of forms after the interview and saying she will receive through postal mail in about 2 week.

I am confused about ustraveldocs.com. Do you have any experience on it?

Can anyone advice me on how does address change (Petitioner's) affect me at interview? I have received my interview date (we have changed address with NVC over phone).Do we need to change it in Ds-260 at the time of interview? or do we need to change AOS?

hi, my interview with the london embassy in on dec 22nd, it is likely that i will be moving house before then and so I have been trying to get hold of the appropriate number / email address so that I can inform the embassy ahead of my interview. i want to be absolute certain that will be no problems due to the address change. NVC referred me to a link on the embassy's website but it doesnt actually help as there doesnt seem to be a contact number for visa interview related queries.....does anyone know how I can get through to them?

You must not open it. We were given the same envelopes. they joined two envelopes together but on the second one was a white paper attached to it and in there was the name of the embassy, my husband name, the address, the ir1 visa category and also the scanned picture on this paper. my husband had to call the embassy and he was told that he should no open any of these envelopes and he should deliver it to the immigration officer at the POE the way they have sent it to him. So I urge you never to open it. they have already cut edge of the envelope in other to let you know what that the document inside the envelope is your information. So therefore do not open it.

Thanks!

I was not really sure because the envelope says nothing about it. Ours don't have any cut at the edge of the envelope but I guess they also sealed the second envelope for some intention.

Oh well, nothing is really clear in this visa process anyway so I am not surprised! :P
