ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hi all, I had a question for one of my friend he applied for his wife and they have an interview at Islamabad Embassy this month. He is making more than $30K per year and AOS was accepted at NVC without asking for any co-sponsor. Their household size is 2. Is he going to run into an issue at interview that he needs a co-sponsor because he is only making $30K per year. I have attached I864p requirement and he does meet that poverty level for the household of 2.

He doesn't have a profile on visa journey and he seems extremely stress out that is why I am asking on his behalf. Please advise.

The poverty level for 2 is under $20,000. Why would it be a problem he makes $30,000 unless I'm missing something? That is about as much as my husband makes too and we are also a household of 2. I don't expect the rules to change dramatically. He needs to relax.

Hi Guys,

do you still need to walk with I-864 and tax transcript to interview even nvc sent them.

Will the CO definitely ask you for it?

We are taking extras of everything... It might be over kill but I'd rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them.

Question for status update date on CEAC website:

Status was updated to "Ready" before approx one month of interview (i.e it has Status Update date approx one month before interview)

Recently I saw that status is Still Ready but the Status update date is changed to Date of Interview - approx 2 weeks.

What does it mean?

I observed for India. Don't know about other country

Hey everybody, today was my interview at the Mumbai Consulate, India and extremely pleased to say that I have been APPROVED!!! Whole interview process was over in one hour. I will post a detailed experience later. It was a tough interview because we had lots of red flags, which meant lots of questions.

Congratulations!

If possible could you please share the details of your Interview Experience (Specially what were the red flags)?

Also I wanted to know what documents they asked (did they for copy 864 and tax docs once again?).

Basically what all documents they asked you to submit at the time of interview Or entering mumbai consulate?

Regarding your question, the embassy is right. Getting an IR-1 visa means once you pay for the immigrant fee which is 165 dollars , then you will be given a 10 years green card which means a permanent residence because your marriage is more than 2 years old which means you don't have to remove condition. Marriage less than two years means CR-1 green card that is on condition. So having an IR-1 means you wont remove condition. We also have an IR-1 visa, we are in the same shoe..lol. Regarding what will happen at the POE, you will be given an envelope , this envelope you must give it to the officer at the POE and you must not open this envelope, only the immigration officer at the POE will open it and then process you. They will stamp your passport, upon your entry, the IR-1 visa is valid for one year but actually before the expiration of this visa, you will have gotten your 10 year green card in the mail. yes you can work immediately. You just have to go to SSN office and apply for one but if you tick yes on your DS 260 for them to send you the SSN, then they will send it but as for me, once my husband arrive we will not wait , we will go to SSN office the following day to get that done as soon as possible. that is all. Congratulations once again

I think you've got everything. Did you mail in or do EP? I know you've said but honestly everything is mixed in my head. Can't wait for my interview to be over so my brain can return to normal.
