question. my husband is in Jamaica as the beneficiary. i received the P4 email. are they going to ship him a copy to his PHYSICAL address provided? or does he have to print it out through email so he can take a copy for his medical exam?

He should get one in the mail too. If not I would have him pint it just in case. I would start to call to schedule his medical exam now. It took my husband two days to get through.

Why would you be nervous? If you have good evidence why are you concerned? You have to be confident in what you submitted. I would only be worried if I didn't submit good viable evidence that showed I was in a bonafide marriage.

The updates can be anything from background check, to neighborhood check to verifying your email, Facebook, phone number. Whatever they need to check. They are drafting up what questions they want to ask you. If you have red flags this is where the questions might be.

If you are confident you should have no issues in any question thrown at you. Trying to take the scary out of this because it isn't. They are preparing for an interview just like you are that is all thats going on with updates.

dwheels,

I only submitted joint bank account letter at I130 stage along with photocopies of other required documentation. I sent only required original documents and photocopies of those documents, 2 passport pics, copy of passport biographic page at NVC stage.

Is it going to be a problem during interview or when CO reviews file before interview?

My wife will be taking following things with her on the day of interview: skype logs, monthly bank statements, joint bank account letter, money transfer receipts, wedding album and copy of life insurance policy where she is listed as primary beneficiary. I hope that's enough.

By the way, we didn't get any RFE at I130 stage and no checlist at NVC stage. Thank God.

I really never had a CC because they just sent my case to the embassy...

Congrats for getting your interview date! :star: Finally!

I wanted to be out of the UK by the Saturday after my interview (four days after) but not only is that cutting it a bit fine, that's the only date all my friends are off work so we can go out and say goodbye :dead:

You're moving to the US 4 DAYS after your interview!? :wow:

Well, I'm doing the same thing, but I live 40 minutes from the US/Canada border so it'll be so much easier for me to move there. :content:

I followed my lawyers advice when submitting for I-130 and didn't submit pics etc for our relationship, just the required documents. So making a thick folder of our travel through the last 2 years from Montreal-NYC (we visited each other every other weekend)…lots of $$$$$$…photos, bank accounts, credit cards, living will etc. Hopefully the CO will give us a chance to submit documents there, IF NEEDED. Who knows!!

Living will!? :wow: I'm willing to bet that your CO is not going to look at it.:rofl::rofl:

It sounds like you're probably printing tons of documents! :wow:

Make sure you recycle after the interview in order to save probably 2-3 trees!:rofl::rofl:

What is this 221g for? They dont give you visa right away? Or you have saw proof and then you fine?

221g is s form letter they hand out when they need something from you. Or when you have been denied. They check off on the form what is the issue.

No if you get a 221g means they can't until you satisfy the request. Or if they refuse visa (denied) they state a generic reason "failed to convince the CO there was a bonafide relationship". etc....

ok ….just finished reading all 16 pages for the december interview thread…took me some time…. :content:

The interview is on Dec 8 and starting to compile all the paperwork for the interview. I realized like Ketsuban, I followed my lawyers advice when submitting for I-130 and didn't submit pics etc for our relationship, just the required documents. So making a thick folder of our travel through the last 2 years from Montreal-NYC (we visited each other every other weekend)…lots of $$$$$$…photos, bank accounts, credit cards, living will etc. Hopefully the CO will give us a chance to submit documents there, IF NEEDED. Who knows!!

I still have to do the medical, rent out my apartment, give official notice at the job, sell everything at my place, close all accounts.. Damn….this is becoming crazzzzy!!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

I know how you feel. It was 9 pages last night. LOL

Goodness Target that is a laundry list to be sure. But trust me you are Canadian you won't even be asked all that evidence but do take just in case.

We got it!!! 12/23~~~~ you guys should call again!!!!!!

Congratulations. Mexico has lift off.

I have a question for everyone,

on average how long does it take to receive the Packet 4 email? or does it vary from Country to country?

Thanks!

Last week people were getting it same day. Last month it was like 5 days. So who knows.

Thank God.

Looks good. Should be just fine. I am sure they won;t even ask for anything. Well maybe pictures. CO's love pictures. So bring those albums. Tell your love story.
