its been 6 and a half weeks since NOA2 and NVC still haven't received our case

There were a bunch or people with the same issue on a previous thread, you may want to call the servicing center and tell it has been six weeks and not arrived, after six weeks I would definitely be making some phone calls

best to ya

thank you. my fiancé has called them twice, first time they said to wait 35 days which we did. second time they said to email them a scan of the hard copy NOA2 with receipt number in subject line which we did. do I need to worry? or does this sometimes happen

I saw it happen to a few folks a few weeks ago, they all started to call the Servicing center from where it originated and also got ahold of someone at NVC who said they would open up a some kind of tracking for it. I would be sending letters, emails and be making phone calls. Eventually their cases arrived at NVC, I lost track of all of that.

I would not worry at this point, but frustration is completely acceptable.

I do not work there so I do not know why some go through like lightning and some take forever to get checked in and processed.

Just keep the faith and keep checking, the petitioner should also be gathering information that the beneficiary will need and the beneficiary should start gathering their information and just update it periodically.

ok thank you for your help! my fiancé lives just 40 mins away from the NVC, he's wondering whether he should just go there in person, i think it would be pointless lol

At this point I do not know what i would do, i would want to as well. But i would say it would have to be a judgement call. Since they say they do not have it, i would probably get with the servicing center and verify it has in fact been shipped out and was not an error on their part.

If they (NVC) truly do not have it, it may not do any good. But on the other hand you never know by showing up in person he may be able to get someone to put a tracker on it.

I hate to give advice on this because you never know if it will be a waste of time and just cause more frustration or if it may do some good.

Sorry to straddle the fence on this one, but I am just trying to look at it from both sides.

someone with a similar time line to me said he spoke to someone at NVC and they were honest and said its likely the documents got lost in the post and for him to call uscis for them to send another one. my fiancé will call uscis tomorrow to try and do the same! I'm so grateful for this site and all the people on it, I'm pretty sure i would of gone absolutely crazy by now without it!

Yep I would definitely give the USCIS Servicing Center a phone call, which appears to be California in your case.

Hope it all works out

Nothing will be updated on your USCIS account. You have to call NVC and tell them your USCIS case number to find out if they have received it.

If you call them on Monday i think your case will already be there

So I called NVC this morning right at opening time, about 6 minute wait. Our file is still not there she told me to wait 25 working days.

So I called NVC this morning right at opening time, about 6 minute wait. Our file is still not there she told me to wait 25 working days.

When i called it was 7 am on the West Coast so about 10 am at the NVC location and the lady on the phone said the same thing. Actually she said yeah i would not call before but you are free to call back if you wish. (yup).

I called back the next day at about noon on the West Coast so 3 PM on the East Coast and the guy said yes your case is here it arrived at 7 AM.

So take away what you wish from this. My suggestion is if you have time than call them.

Thanks for your experience. I was figuring I'd call on Wednesday again. I'm 9 hours ahead of EST so I call at 4PM our time. It will come. I am just believing for a Mid-February appointment and the USEM here takes 3-4 months.
