Mary Landrieu Insults the People of Louisiana

riazk6.jpg
Senator Mary Landrieu, who has represented the state of Louisiana for 18 years, now blames her declining popularity on the people who have kept her in office; describing voters in Louisiana as being both sexist and racist. She made the allegations during an interview on NBC Thursday.
Landrieu pulled the race card to explain President Obama’s crashing poll numbers and said that her own difficulties are due to the South being “not always a good place for women to present ourselves.”
Whilst explaining that Barack Obama angered Louisianans by using the BP oil spill as an excuse to shut down offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico – thereby causing the southern states enormous economic hardships – she also said that “the South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans,” which is why it has been “a difficult time for the President to present himself in a very positive light as a leader.”
According to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, Landrieu is trailing her Republican Challenger, Bill Cassidy, by four percentage points.

As much as I believe that the vast majority of Democrat politicians should be thrown overboard with cement weights chained to their necks......I doubt any Republicans were actually angered by her remarks.

Politics as usual.

What's strange is that these people fail to grasp that to hold a government to account you have to make legitimate criticisms about specific policy elements and CRUCIALLY, respond with alternate suggestions that would resolve whatever the issue is and not simply tell them how stupid they are for wanting to solve a problem in the way suggested. As a result, the political elite in the US stumbles from crisis to crisis tinkering with this and that and creating a worse and worse mess that no one bothers to address any more. Ridiculous.

Well you're not going to get that on here. American politics seems yo have less to do with issues than with personalities. Might as well elect the president by reality TV.
