The NOA2 says "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

Now I was under the impression that after USCIS sends the stuff to NVC... Notice date is Jan 23rd, and I called the NVC to check if they got anything just now (28th), but they didn't get anything.

Also, no consulate is listed anywhere on the notice... at least I didn't find one listed, so what is that supposed to mean?

Approved Vermont petitions may skip the NVC part (not exactly sure about that), but anyway check this Appointment Schedule often to see if your case number shows up! http://moscow.usembassy.gov/consular/iv_dates.php I think it gets updated about once a week. Good luck!

Don't let them waste your time, in confusion, like they did mine, they are using outdated wording. The petitions all seem to get recorded by the NVC now. I've been keeping track of people that recieved those words and all of them saw it go through NVC. Except for me, Vermont stuck mine in a warehouse somewhere and hopefully it'll go through the NVC soon.

Give it 6 weeks sine your NOA2, chances are NVC will get it.

Good Luck!

I don't know abou the NVC at present; May 2005, there were several of us whose fiancees were Russian. We called the NVC phone number and periodically asked whether the petition had been received. When it was, they told me and told me the MOS case number. Then it took a couple weeks to go the the US Embassy/Consulate in Moscow. The web site for the Moscow Consulate updated back then around Fridays each week. You'll have a case number [MOS] and application receipt number. Last May, they were both listed for most people along with the date of interview on the web site.
