In Illinois, on my couch drinking coffee.

Mr. Betta fish is not recovering from the tank move. I think today I will have to put him under :crying: I hate when that happens. In his memory, I will rescue another betta from Walmart.

What's everyone doing today? I have to work 11-5pm. I'm sure we will watch more Sopranos when Mohammed gets home. My sons gf gave us season 1. We're hooked. She also had season 2. We are now up to Season 3 disc 3 and Blockbuster loves us. We have to rent all the rest!

I have to help a friend get his new house ready for move in. He's offered his home as our wedding venue, so I better not skip out on this job :innocent: . I'll probably be stuck doing trim work for which i have no patience. BUT it is a lovely 100 year old house in downtown and will make a great place for a wedding party.

jackie- exactly what is the best way to mercy kill a fish?

We owe this year on taxes. bummer. My little tax deductions grew up and moved away and with both of us working, we're in a higher tax bracket. double bummer. So we won't file til April with a check for $343.

My daughter had to put a fish under once and called a pet store. They said 'Put it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer.' I have always used the toliet water sendoff. I was just reading on a betta website that in a few weeks they can recover. So I'm confused what to do here.

Jackie (F)

ETA What in the world did you cook that you used alot of garlic? Traven might need something stronger. Hope your lil man feels better today.

d to da oodle here.

I'm at my second job. Does anyone know how to make everything smaller? All the icons on the desktop are HUGE as is the internet browser page. I don't like things to be big on my computer. I feel like it's for a 70 yr old who can't see or something.

Well shouldn't be on here but Jackie good luck with the fish. That was the BIGGEST beta I've ever seen!!! We had one at work here a few years ago and named it our boss's name. He was like 1/4 of the size but I do remember having to let the new water sit for like two days or something before we could put him in. I bet that is why he's kind of in shock. Hope he can recover!

hehe i can't use my nick name in the public forum...lol ... its kinda bad hahaha

we made bamia .. it was super fantastic and was atop a lovely bed of basmati rice. mmmmmmmmmm.... i just can't stand the smell of garlic and we made a big pot of it so it used probably 4 or 5 pieces of garlic ... the initial frying of garlic and onion in olive oil is what permeated the house with this horrid smell..i have incense going all over the place to try to at least cover the smell for a bit...

hehehe i can't tell my secret but i really think you will like it :):D:D

Hi everyone... my patient that I was so worried about FINALLY got moved to the Intensive Care Unit so no more trying to titrate pressors and worry about ventilator settings and going to the pharmacy to pick up medications etc etc... But my other patient died  He was really sick and refused all his treatment because he has some kind of mental illness, so I guess it's not that surprising... but I can't believe he died. What a week

Hope you all have a better Sunday than I'm having.

I am so sorry for the post of your patient. I can not imagine the job you do and how you can separate the work from your personal life. BUT it such important work and I am glad to know there is someone like you who is compassionate and dedicated out there! (F)

I guess the freezer thing is humane...I've heard freezing to death for humans is not so bad....once you get past the period where you are so cold, your body just sorta of goes to sleep. But I do not know if I could put the fish inteh freezer and close the door knowing it was slowing going to die. Of course flushing down the toliet must be a brutal way to go too.
