In America you are free to have an opinion and to express it freely, yes?

And it's none of your business or anyone elses if a kid wants to be in a picture holding something that is used in their sport.

Perhaps you missed the part you quoted that states that I don't personally care what someone feels is a good idea vis a vis props for a school photo? I have a view point on why I think it might say something negative about a person that chooses to so and I have clearly stated why. Feel free to debate that as that's the point I raised, not that you will, because you have no idea if these kids are posing with guns because they are marksmen or not, do you?

That's what they are doing in their year book pictures.

Has anyone said anything different? No, no one has said that they can't, or they shouldn't or that it shouldn't be allowed, but you don't appear to want to consider what is actually being discussed because seemingly from your response you'd rather accuse people of not fitting in with American culture because they don't necessarily agree that posing with guns for a school picture is a wise choice. Well done.

I can clearly see that you have no idea about nor have any interest in shooting, hunting, or anything of the sort so why would I debate you? What denotes a person being a marksman? Do they need to have a picture of their target with all the shots in the 10 ring? Do you know that hunting is considered a sport? They live in Nebraska, not in NYC. It would make sense that they hunt. By the type of rifles they are holding I can see that it's possible. So why is it so hard to admit that they are Sportsmen and they are holding the implements of their sport? Btw, where did you grow up? Do you know anything about the culture in the midwest or in rural America? Many people hunt in those areas.

You missed the point entirely, and that's fine I have now lost interest as you are asking me questions that have absolutely no relevance to anything I have posted.

So you clearly have no idea of the culture these kids live in and just want your opinion to matter. What do you think of this picture?

He clearly must be crazy because he's holding a gun. I'd say he's shooting Trap or Skeet by the type of shotgun he's firing. BTW, Trap is a shooting sport that's a favorite among Europeans. Damn crazy Europeans and their gun culture.

I feel deeply sorry for anyone who believes American culture can be reduced to guns alone, when our country has a wealth to offer in that realm. I feel deeply sorry if you believe criticism to my own country should indicate I should consider moving elsewhere.

Apparently one can take tovarich out of motherland but one can't take motherland out of tovaorich, yes?

I didn't tell you to leave. I just don't understand why someone would want to live somewhere that is so alien and offensive to them as it appears the U.S. is to you.

A tongue in cheek charity calendar made by adults is a bit different to photos taken of teens in a school setting.

The simple answer is because I chose to. I have lived in other countries and could live pretty much anywhere in the world I wish.

However, you should be in a better position to answer your own question. Why have you chosen to live in a country where the very notion of the First Amendment is completely alien, unacceptable and offends you so deeply?
