Alan's waiver is approved and we had the official letter to say so on Saturday, so now that I have come down to earth and have sobered up following 2 nights of celebrations, I can finally post in here to let all you UK'ers know the good news..

It has been a long hard journey for us and at times I have really felt for Alan because he knows the delay was all down to him having to file a waiver. When we had the interview way back in October and I was given my visa Alan was devastated at having to file the waiver, after all, the idiotic things he did were over 28 years ago, I know it was hard for him.

Anyway, all good things come to those who wait, and now the waiting is over and we can start to make all the arrangements for our "big move" and I cannot wait, I will be so impatient over the next few weeks but it is happening and I can finally relax and won't have to be checking the waiver site anymore, may get withdrawel symptoms about that, after all I have been logging on to it everyday for the past 12 weeks

Obviously I will not be around VJ as much but will keep on checking the progress of everyone and looking for lots of approvals, so to each and everyone of you, Good luck, whatever stage you are at,

Best wishes

Val and Alan

To all you lovely people, thank you so much, I am still on cloud nine and now I suppose I will start getting all panicky about the move etc. On second thoughts, no, just get myself organised and sort everything out.:dance: whilst singing and dancing all the time.

Broma we are in St Helens, merseyside, where are you.

Well we have had a wonderful weekend with friends who are already planning the big party, Alan is going out to Liverpool next Saturday with a pile of his friends, men only  so no doubt he will be what is commonly known as "rat arsed " when he gets home, but god knows he deserves it.

We are planning on the 17th but we have to fly with My Travel, bit of a bummer, but we have no option because we are bringing our rottweillers and My Travel are the only ones who fly direct from Manchester to Orlando. To try to get to Jaxs from Manchester would mean a change at either Philly or Atlanta or another airport and we do not want that for the dogs sake.

Our furniture is in storage as we sold the house and moved out on the 9th (bit risky that) thank god it worked out ok, and we are renting a small bungalow off a friend. We will arrange to meet the shippers at the storage facility 2 days before we fly and then stay with a friend for two nights other wise we have nothing to sleep on in this bunglaow, all we brought with us besides clothes was 2 sofas and a bed  that will go to the storage the day the shippers will be going for the rest of our stuff. They will unpack most of what I packed and redo it, apparently they have to do this for insurance purposes and customs.

I cannot believe it is finally over and we are on the last leg, what is going to be strange I think, is when we have been in Jaxs for a few weeks and finally realise that it is not a holiday we really are there for keeps :dance::dance:

I shall also be a bit sad because I shall be leaving my youngest grandchild who is only 2 but we do not see a great deal of them with them living in Kent and they are already making plans to come to see us in September, so that will be really good. I also know that leaving my eldest brother who is 70 now, is going to be hard as he will get all emotional and think he is never going to see me again, fat chance of that, I'll make sure he gets his backside to the states  for a lovely holiday

I'll still be popping in here from time to time but as you will all understand  I will be extremely busy these next few weeks

This site is a great place to be with a great set of people and long may it continue.

Val (and Alan)
