HI everyone.

27th OCT (8:30~10:00)

I had an interview on 27th OCT in Tokyo, Japan. It was nice conversation with Person in charge of interview.

End of the interview he said, Based on conversation and papers, it shows that your marriage is authentic. Your visa is approved.

You will get your passport within a week. I was so happy and overwhelmed.

27th OCT (17:00)

Again, Embassy of USA, TOKYO called me and asked me to submit the Japanese family registration.

How strange?? It has been a month they kept my all documents that transferred from NVC.

Now after interview they asked me to submit additional documents.

28th OCT (15:00)

Embassy of USA, TOKYO got my documents.

30th OCT (9:30)

Now I am confused that Visa is approved or not?

how long it will take my passport back? They should not keep my passport longer. I need it soon for office purpose.

do I call them to send me soon?? or not?

best regards

~~ moved to embassy discussion from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~

If you need your passport you can request it back however you show Bangladesh as the beneficiary's home country which likely means that additional processing is needed vs a Japanese citizen

It takes as long as it takes to get the passport back. This is why we always say on the board not to make any travel plans until the visa is in hand.

Actually, I have changed the nationality from Bangladesh to Japan. I inform embassy before interview and they said me to bring the passport in the interview.

FYI I live in japan more then 8 years.
