Got my green card yesterday in the mail. I never got the text/email confirmation that my green card has been shipped with the tracking number!!

APPROVED. Funny because I checked the web site last night before going to bed earlier than I normally do. It still had the December date of receiving the I-751. Went to bed and turned off my phone notifications. This morning I had 6 text messages and 12 new email messages all telling me that each of us (me and two kids) had been approved. The number of duplicate messages was due to the USCIS system locking me out of my account three times previously (even though I never gt my password wrong - it kept telling me failed login attempt or not using my account so locked out and I had to create a new account with a new email each time and then load our case files again) so I had messages coming to four different email addresses by the time the approval happened.

Very relieved to be done... again... for now!

Am sad to say this but I received letter from USCIS saying that I have not established that marriage was into good faith, and the reason of that its because me and my wife were lazy on actually doing some joint stuff together, we have been in allot of financial issues that we used cash for everything, luckily we submitted two tax returns and only one been sent to the USCIS so I got one more year include for more proof. Since they want more information they requested these points:

1. Copies of Our driver licenses

2. Any Children born for us (We cant have kids - Am the one who cant give and I don't have medical papers to prove.)

3, Bank statement (We don't have joint account)

4. Mortgage agreement (We don't have any moergage)

5. credit card statements (got it but not jointly, I guess I have to add her to my account)

6. Any car loan or home improvement or business loans. (None that we did)

7. Tax Return Jointly filled (we have)

8. Rental lease ( we shoult have one but we lost it, Trying to contact the apartment management to get a proof or a copy of it)

9. Copies of utility bills (We never had a joint utility account - My wife credit is so bad they would reject her on basic stuff, so I had to do everything in my name)

10. If app Something about military allowance which for sure (I don't have)

11. Any other information show and proves that your marriage was on good faith

Help us out, am seriously depressed because of this, I was suppose to go on vacation in July and now its canceled because of this, note that we have till Aug 15 to submit these papers. also we lived together for year and a half and I moved to another city year ago for work and to support my wife, also we spent vacation together within this time and I go home every chance I get, and sometimes my wife would come to the city am staying at and spend the night. also we are still love each other and still together and planning to get new place soon and move in together again cause I could finally save from the financial issues we had before.

If you moved to another city to support your wife, then I would assume you transferred $ into her account to help her living expenses. Also if the credit cards were in your name, there may have been purchases on there for her at places such as clothing stores etc. That should help.

Also - emails and phone records that show you are communicating all the time, particularly if you have the sort that my husband I I send all the time - administrative type lists of things that you paid and she owes you money for, and vice versa (or who is doing what on the chores list), weekend coordination etc.

Thirdly, proof of travel to see your wife, plane tickets etc so even though you're living in another city, you're maintaining a relationship. Make sure you have pics from all the vacations.

If you can show the pattern that you had the financial issues and are now saving to live together, that might help as well. Don't just give them the bank statements, but include copies with a letter showing your balance before you moved (and credit card debt etc) and how you've been accumulating savings and paying things off. If you have proof of either a realtor to buy a house together, or information on where you'd like to live, that would help.

Bad credit won't stop you both from opening a joint bank account together and both making regular deposits, and taking joint expenses out of it, so do that now rather than later.

Another thing they don't mention is professional wills and power of attorney - you can each give each other power of attorney and submit proof of that, as well as a professionally drawn will from a lawyer (signed, witnessed etc) each dedicating your assets to each other (with consideration for children).

Finally - insurance. I would assume that you're both named drivers on each other's car insurance, yes? If you include that proof that will help establish your relationship for USCIS.

I personally do not see a problem with RFE or living separately for good reasons.

For example, me and my husband have been living 7 miles apart for the past year (after living for 3 years together). It happened not because we separated, we are still happily married, but due to financial purposes and other issues. The house we got from his family last year (we still need to pay the mortgage off) is in the horrible neighborhood (drugs, crime, etc) and needs complete renovation with ton of money to put in, so simply i told him that there is no chance I will be living in that darn. If somebody knows Philly, I am talking about North Philly right now:) On the other hand it is not even worth renovating - we will have to put way too much money to make it livable for both of us, pay off the mortgage and i will still be unhappy with the neighborhood (school district and neighborhood in general are very important for me especially when we decide to have kids). So the decision has been made to slowly renovate it (like electricity had to be changed, all the plumbing, roof, new bathroom, kitchen, etc) and rent it out as 2 apartments for additional income. While he is working 2 jobs and trying to renovate it, I am renting a small room to reduce the costs and pay off my loans. It works out for both of us for now. Even though it is very far from my job (35 miles to drive each way every day) and I could have rented somewhere close to my office, I decided to live closer to him rather than my job so I can see him almost every evening.

I am not afraid of RFE or interview. As long as your marriage is real, you have nothing to worry about. Yes, it is more work and stress, but honestly. all you have to do is to send them whatever you have and an explanation of different addresses.

Why cant you go for vacation in July? Worst case scenario they will send you interview letter saying there will be an additional letter with the date of the interview (it does not happen that fast). if you send the RFE fast enough there is a chance they will approve it by July as well. I mean unless your vacation is a 3 months vacation, i would not be worried about it.

There is no need to hide different addresses. It happens in life. it would be much worse if you lie to USCIS. Make sure you include the proofs of your trips to each other. Also maybe:

1. family plan for cell phone for 2 lines?

2. maybe to get a doctor's note about your condition (which I do not think is necessary, some couples don't even want to have kids and it is their right)

3. Living will?

4. Papers from doctors visits/employment enrollment where the spouse is an emergency contact

5. 401K - beneficiary

6. Life insurance - beneficiary

7. What about medical/ dental insurance, do you guys have it?

8. Affidavits from people who know you as a couple.

9. Maybe letter from landlord from the place where you lived together and also from your current landlord saying she comes over often?

That is all for now I can come up with, I will let you know if something else pops up in my head:)
