the reason I ask is that I will be in the US when he mails our I-129f away and from the timelines I've seen there is a possibility that packet 3 may OR MAYNOT be sent before I leave to come back to Canada.

Packet 3 is sent to the beneficiary, not the USC. Is there anyone at your address in Canada who could receive the packet, in case you have not returned yet?

Okay, even though it turns out to have been a stupid question--you brought up a point I didn't actually think of--thank you--yes there will be someone here most of the time. I guess they could always send it to me.
