You'll just have to go and explain that it is missing. If they really need it, they will tell you to order a new one (which hopefully won't take forever). Good luck at the interview.

I was thinking that too. Worst case would probably be they won't send the Visa until they get the Birth Certificate. Download the form to get another one, fill it out and get it sent. Maybe photocopy the form too- show them you have sent for a new one.

In all the interviews I have read and indeed my own noone has ever been asked for their birth certificate, you only get asked some standard questions and some proof of actual living together is required, more often than not it is a big anti-climax you are in and out in no time.

So take the copy you have and be cool calm and collected :)

I was asked for mine, and my hubby had to show his as well. We were asked for all the originals of the biographic documents. So, it really depends.

I don't think there's a yes or no. We were not asked for it; we'd submitted it of course with the I-129F application papers and also with the AOS. The only thing that happened was the officer forgot to ask for the sealed medical exam. I had to ask him if he wanted it.

Did you send it in with the I-129F and I-485 applications? It appeared to us that the official folder he had contained everything from the I-129F and I-485. You might see if they can find it in the official paperwork they should have at the interview. The officer had it right in front of him where we could see it and was going through and looking for specific sections and papers to make certain they were present. Just some thoughts.

We send wishes for a successful interview!
