Anticipating interview question

So.... just like ld&rd's prob, I tried to get a visitor visa to USA after our engagement but on DS156 I didn't tick on the fiance thingie. I wonder if my honest reasons/defenses sound convincing :

1) I didn't have any proof of engagement. No ring, no pics, no parties....he just simply asked me to marry him and I said yes. I didn't tick on the fiance thingie cuz i was afraid the consular would ask me to show him/her proof of our engagement, and fail to do so would cause a visa denial. My fiance gave me the ring after he came back from middle east and visited me in Japan later on.

2) I applied for a visa to Canada a few days after the US Visa denial. So we ended up meeting up in Canada instead. And if we wanted to get married at that time, we could, but we didn't. Instead, I went back to Japan (where I was) after a week to continue my study and he went back to USA.

Ok.....from 1-10, whats the chance of me getting trouble?.........or does anyone have any other idea of what i should say? =/

Yep.....that's the exact post I've just read... but..ya.... I guess I shouldn't worry so much about it. Thanks.
