In all fairness, nothing was even submitted or approved. Now that the US obtained effective results in curing the infected patients, there is the need to create more hysteria about nothing. The motley crew can no longer claim 'Obama alone brought Ebola into the US' without also conceding that 'Obama cured it'.

It must suck living from one made up crisis to another....

It cost $1 million to retrofit a former pediatric transplant ward on the hospital’s seventh floor, creating isolation rooms with concrete-block walls, tornado-proof windows and video links to the unit’s nursing station.

Bellevue Hospital Center has begun transferring patients from its intensive-care unit to nearby NYU Langone Medical Center, a signal that caring for Ebola patients could require changes in how New York City’s flagship public hospital operates.

Dr. Raju said the costs associated with the Ebola unit—which operates like a hospital inside a hospital—came from the hospital’s operating accounts. Each new room in the Ebola unit costs $3 million to $4 million to create, he said.

I've applied for a gov't grant to turn my basement into an Ebola treatment center.

Best in what way and compared to who?

The jury is still out.

The Jury is not out. We suck in Costs and access., and are starting to lag behind in some outcomes. Ask maven and Little yap yap.

So why would we want to risk bringing Ebola patients here , when other places,,Say England and Canada have much better health care systems

My guess is that IF such a measure were to be approved, it would be funded from the same pot whence we have been obtaining funds to solve every third world crisis with little or no reason other than the fact we can, for the past couple hundred of years.

Given this administration's past history of having the tendency to sugar-coat, under-estimate, volunteer the US taxpayer funds to solve every third world crisis with little or no reason other than the fact he can. I personally would like to know these answers to these questions since I pay a small portion of his and the other useless members of Congress's salary.

Pretty soon, you alarmists will run out of made up crisis over which to indulge into hysterical hissy fits.

Why bring over only a few thousand of sick folks when we can bring one billion trillion bazilion patients!!!!

I think the US has fallen behind other developed countries in overall healthcare. Are they better than 3rd world countries? Absolutely. But when you compare them to the cream of the crop (Canada, England, Switzerland, etc) they are a distant second imo.

Bringing Ebola patients to the US for treatment does not equate to having the best healthcare, it simply means that we are willing to traet them.

Folks in england and it's subjects like Canada really do need to step up to the plate and give them the best health care they can .. The wait to see a doctor would only be what 2-3 months . ?

It is almost comical how America bashers always want and expect us to bail them and everyone else out.

Whether it is saving someone's behinds in a war, or saving the infirm, they demand we solve everyone's problems at our expense and risk with one hand, while simultaneously denigrating us (or worse) with the other.

You do realize that you and all the other folks that disrespect the President of the United States of America fall under the same moniker?

There is a difference between bashing the President and bashing a country. And respect needs to be earned.

What's the difference? Isn't the POTUS an extension of our country? How is it okay to say you can't bash the country, but completely fair game to bash the person who's in the highest level of office for the same country?

Patriotism is good. Blind patriotism is not.

The US has done some pretty crappy things in this world just as it has done good. There are very valid reasons for the dislike the US receives abroad.

I guess you responded before I edited my post. I added: Respect has to be earned.
