I-130 Priority Date

Hello I have a question, I am wondering if on the I797 there is a priority date, does that have to come current to get a scheduled interview, I have been waiting for a month now, our case was completed on September 24th 2014, and Have not even heard anything of a interview, it is really starting to annoy me, there has been many dates open for a scheduled date, NVC of course claims the Embassy needs to give them a date, but yet say they schedule the interview, I got to looking and was wondering for the I130 is that priority date really relevant? It is November 16th 2014. I have asked for expedite, even though I don't consider it to be an expedite since case is complete. I didn't think that for the I-130 PD was irrelevant???

Priority date is only relevant for visa categories that have numerical limitations. Spouses of US Citizens do not fall into this category.

It says right on Embassy website that NVC holds cases until cases priority date become current or close to becoming current, other than K1 visas, which are sent immediately to embassy for processing..

Step 2: The National Visa Center

Once DHS has approved a petition, the petition will be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC). All petitions are administratively processed at the NVC, and after they complete the process NVC will schedule an interview appointment for the beneficiary of the petition at the embassy specified on the petition. The NVC will forward all Immediate Relative petitions to the embassy for interview. The NVC will store all preference petitions until the priority dates are close to being current and will then forward all such petitions to the embassy for interview.

Spouses of US Citizens are Immediate Relatives which are not subject to numerical limitations which makes the priority date irrelevant. The "preference petitions" that you previously put in bold different verbiage for visas categories that have numerical limitations and it is those visas where the priority date matters.
