Hello...

I just want to let you all know that I scheduled an infopass appointment for today, regarding the EAD status, since they hadnt touched it or anything since the receipt date. My intention was basically ask the lady, when was the real date I was going to be eligible for the interim EAD, and she said she was going to do it today. Which actually was less than the 90 days.

I just had to fill out the form, take the pic and fingerprint and voila, I had my interim EAD, they said it was going to be valid for 8 month, but its actually going to be valid for 5 months, cause it expires on August 1st, 2006. The dates on the permit are 01.01.06 til 08.01.06.

Now, what happens with the previous I-765? is that going to be approved and sent?? or should I introduce a new one around by the end of May so the permits overlap??

What is the common practice?? advice appreciated... :)

PS: By the way. I called my boss, and I am going to start working on tuesday. They were just waiting for the EAD so I could begin. I am really excited about that!!!!

That's great you got the interim EAD, congratulations :D In my understanding you keep that interim EAD and use it, while the EAD you sent your application for is still in processing, after they approve it they will send it to you and then you can start using it instead of the interim one. The purpose of interim EAD is to give you your right to work if the 90 days have passed and your application for EAD wasn't approved yet.

Oh well... now that's good news... I thought I had to keep on applying for the longer one. So, that means I have to keep on praying for the approval of all my paperwork. Well, no one said that this was easy... I guess, I still cant complain....:). It's just the sense of being kinda in the air, just a tad overwhelming.

Thanks though, for your help.
