I think being a doctor is a worthwhile profession. Most would. Even the doctors who actually PRACTICE MEDICINE.

For the record, my comment was pure sarcasm. I am sure you have heard the comments about doctors practicing medicine.

And again, if I choose to believe in God and not that I evolved from a monkey or gorilla it is my choice and my choice alone. Just like if you want to believe you evolved from an animal it is your choice and I will not try to make you or force you to believe otherwise. The decision is always ultimately up to the person that will bear the consequences in the end.

You need not address this to me, I am not silly enough to get in the middle of a discussion about evolution vs. creation.

My comment was for his lordship HM.

You'll get no argument from me about that. I wasn't suggesting science was worthless. Quite the opposite.

Well a person is perfectly free to believe what they like. If they want to believe a little old man lives in the moon and it's made of cheese, or that the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus are real - that's perfectly fine. Just don't be too surprised if few others share your views.

However, it's dangerous to promote these religion as having equal validity to scientific research through introducing pseudo scientific claptrap like Creationism into school curriculums or that the Earth is 6000 years old. There is a clear distinction between religion and science and they can be mutually exclusive.

The existence of science isn't any threat to people of religion.

Uhhh the bible says God created us. And he didn't say he created us from banana and gorilla and then split out a man. So with this being said, how can I be bearing false witness when it is clearly written in the bible.

Don't get your panties in a bunch with me because I choose to believe in God and the bible.

You do not seem to understand the theory of evolution period-nothing in evolutionary theory suggest that people evolved form bananas or gorillas. You are free to believe in whatever supernatural being you wish to believe in, no one is suggesting that you shouldn't. What is extremely suspect is denying evolutionary theory and the historical age of the earth, the sun, the planets, the stars and the universe. Denying that there is a way to calculate these things is akin to those who believed the earth was flat when all the evidence pointed to the fact that the earth is in fact spherical.

You actually quoted my text when responding to me again for the 2nd time!!! This is a good week for me!!

Nobody, no one, has to share my views on God. Period. If you feel you evolved from a potato gun that is your business!! I am not going to treat you poorly because of your views as long as you do not push your views onto me. I don't have to believe what you believe in and vice versus.

To promote there is a supreme being who created the earth is not dangerous.

Idiots who use our creators name to promote oppression, suffering, self-destruction and sexism are dangerous. People who think they got it figured out because they can clone a Barbie doll are dangerous. Humans didn't create biology nor evolution. It was here before we existed. We have yet to fully comprehend the powers of the world or the galaxy. My thoughts and my thoughts ONLY.

We can calculate these things because God gave us a brain to do so. Thank goodness he created us. There are plenty of brainless morons in the world without actually being brainless. (And this is not against you. This is a general statement about the stupidity of people)

Pushing views onto people is exactly what the folks who are promoting creationism have tried to do. The idea that schools should teach creation theory alongside biology (as if it is an equivalent discipline) is dangerous.

Note: I'M NOT saying that YOU are doing this.

With regards to human cloning - that is extremely controversial and there are plenty of scientists out there who believe that this sort of technology should be heavily restricted.

There is no reason to suppose that a scientist can't have a belief in God. As I said, they are mutually exclusive.

There are no scientist on street corners asking for death to all scientist. And for the record, I am working towards the techy earth side of things. I like looking at the sky, satellites, viewing the earth, etc. However, no matter how much knowledge I gain, this will never be enough for me to exclude God from the equation. No, 1 human will ever be able to possess the knowledge it took to create this earth.

Thank you for saying this. Because I do not. Remember, I married a Buddhist, someone who does not believe in God. If I was a religious nut freak I would not have done this. The Buddhist really don't give an explanation for the existence of humans like Christianity does.

Relentless lying is your staple here, and right now you are lying about the lies you have told. Here you are again lying about evolution:

I evolved from a monkey or gorilla

Nobody said that here and it is not what evolution says. But your incessant lying about evolution is all you seem capable of. Even when corrected, you continue to tell the same lie. So this lying seems very important to you, and is false witness against all of us speaking to evolution, hypocrite.

Lying is not an opinion. It is an act condemned by the ten commandments. You bear false witness against evolution and everyone who understands it. We don't do that with Christianity so maybe it is high time we start. I am a little tired of human sacrifice, slavery, and sexism being preached by modern Christianity....

You are also lying with these personal insults, and lying about what we disagree on. It has nothing to do with your belief in God, but instead your lies about what evolution is. It is an amazing conveyor belt of lies.

You must really fear it in order to lie so much about what it is.

I'm not sure it's really necessary to call people 'liars'. Surely there are better ways to express disagreement without doing that.

Someone needs a little psycho analysis done.

One minute you are okay, the next :girlwerewolf2xn:

I don't personally insult people, unless I feel like they are insulting me. If you are mad because I don't agree I evolved from an Ape or the majority of my DNA came from a banana is my business. Why are you so angry about this? Maybe you should put me on ignore if you don't like my comments.

Which is a perfectly acceptable view if you ascribe to it. Once again, what is not acceptable is to deny evolutionary theory in favor of the idea that everything on the planet was dropped on the earth in a 6 day flurry of supernatural activity some 5,000 years ago in exactly the form as we see today. That's just a nonsense. I don't know why you think it is amusing to toss out the idea that evolutionary theory claims that people are descended from bananas and gorillas or potato guns or that humans created anything. No one believes that, nil, nada, zero scientists. By trying to belittle genuine science method and theory you make your own views seem petty and small minded. That may not be your intention, but that's the effect you are having.

Because you are creating false premise that no one believes. That's simply ridiculous if you want your views to be taken seriously you should counterpoint them to someone's actual perspective, not make one up and laugh at it.

I'm not sure it's really necessary to call people 'liars'. Surely there are better ways to express disagreement without doing that.

No, there is no value in calling someone a liar, however to laugh at a view that no one holds as if that somehow proves that your own point of view is valid is spurious to say the least.

I agree that it's a bit silly to try and debate the issue by assuming one side of it is cartoonish and facile.

As I said, there are plenty of scientists out there who have no problem juggling their work with religious belief. People seem to assume that anyone who works in a scientific field is a 'heathen' and that's just not true.

You should go back and read our discussion on bananas. This is what I was teasing.

The potato comment was clearly to say and stress that people can believe in whatever they want to believe in. There are discussions all over the internet about humans evolving from apes and monkeys.

People are on here telling me something is wrong with me for believing in God over human beings and their evolution theories. Am I crying? No. No one in here is stepping up and saying they read the bible and the bible clearly states God created man.

I'm sure you have not seen me write anything on here about someone being a "heathen" for working in the science field.
