I'm getting married in about 5 months. What way would be faster? Would it be worth legally marrying now and do a K3 or IR1? Or is it still beneficial to do the fiance visa?

The country we are going to do is Brazil. I'm already mad enough because they took away the DCF option on the day I proposed. I'm a permanent resident there too...

AOS, AP:

02-09-07 - Legally Married

02-20-07 - AOS and AP mailed to Chicago

02-27-07 - NOA1

03-15-07 - Biometrics done

03-19-07 - AP Approved (AP was expedited. Emergency Advance Parole done at the immigration office)

03-26-07 - AOS Interview on 5/17

Advance Parole Approved in under 30 days.

Just under 90 days from AOS filing to AOS interview. Not bad! :)

I think statistically speaking the K1 is the "fastest" option with DCF out of the question, just keep in mind nothing is guarenteed. Though since you mentioned DCF does this mean you are living in Brazil with your fiancee atm?

It depends on what benefits you are wanting to have; you haven't detailed that anywhere yet.

There are some major advantages to entering the US with an immigrant visa vs a K visa but it will take longer overseas.
