So, we have been waiting for fingerprint results to be returned before the visa can be issued to us. I have been waiting patiently, la de da for the last 6 weeks, thinking progress would be made. Every time I called NVC to inquire about my case, they said "oh fingerprints pending, they were sent in on Feb 1st. We can't tell you if the fingerprints are actually done or not". I called the Embassy, "Oh, waiting for fingerprints" is the standard response I get.

Today I called the agency that does the FBI fingerprint checks and come to find out that they turn around fingerprint results in 24 hours! Apparently, the Embassy sends the fingerprints to the NVC, the NVC puts them into an electronic batch file that is then sent to the fingerprints agency. The agency does their thing and returns the results.

The woman I spoke to said they hadn't even received my husband's prints yet. WHAT??!?!?! Here I was, thinking the process was moving along, and now for all I know, the Embassy is either sitting on their a##, NVC is sitting on its a## or the fingerprints are lost in some shuffle.

I am calling NVC right now (I have already called them twice this week and thy are probably irritated with me), but what the he**??
