Some good news - I was informed today that I got a job! I had the interview last week. It is for a teaching fellow position at the University of Virginia!!

Just hope I get the green card now. It would be kind of ironic if I don't!

Kiki (F)

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

WOW! That's super news! I'm really really tickled for you Kiki!

I don't think you need to worry about getting the card. But it stinks waiting doesn't it?

Thank you Rebecca! I am quite amazed actually. I feel very lucky - at one stage I felt in a "hole" and couldn't see an end to this all. The college is great and so are the staff in the science department. I am very excited - I'll be starting work next week! I am also terrifed! :P

I hope that you and Wes do hear something very soon. The waiting in limbo is dreadful. I can't believe I have been here 8 months already! My AOS was held up by my fingerprints which were "illegible". I got an RFE for that and had to obtain a local police certificate. I am kind of nervous as I was unsure what to send back exactly. I know they have received it, so the waiting begins again...

Keep us posted - let's hope you hear something positive back real soon!

Hello all,

Glad to hear of all the latest successes on the site!!! Just wanted to report in that Andrew and I had our AOS interview today in Hartford, CT at 10:35am and we were approved....got the stamp in the passport and the works!!! The hardest part was waiting in the waiting area...they called us about 30 minutes late but the nterviewer we had was very cool and laid back and made jokes with us the whole way through. The whole thing seemed so casual, it was great! All she asked was how we met...she didn't separate us and compare answers or any of that. She asked if we were working...about the fact that I'm in grad school and then asked if we were still using my parents as co-sponsors (which we were). Then we gave her a copy of our lease, a copy of our driving insurance with both names and a copy of bank statements showing that we have a joint account and that was all she wanted!!! The interview itself took only about 15 minutes and we were out the door by 11:30!!!!! YEAH BABY!!! No more of this for 2 more years (minus 90 days)!!!! Good luck to the rest of you and don't stress the interview....seriously, it was a piece of CAKE!!!!! -Weebeansy

I'm really angry :( . I just got another RFE, this time to go for a SECOND full medical. I just had one in London in December, then when I got here in January, I got the vaccination supplement from a US civil surgeon. This is crazy. Yet more $$$$ and more time....

That is INSANE!!!!! It almost sounds like their just making up more things for you to do. I wish you the best of luck and hope that all of this insanity ends soon for you. -Weebeansy

Kiki total congratulations on getting a job, that is amazing!

Had our AOS interview this morning. The guy didn't want to see any papers but asked us a zillion on the spot questions like what my favorite food is and to name three of our spouse's friends and where they live. Seemed a lot more in depth than many of the interviews I've read about. After 30 minutes we were told we were PENDING since the security check had not come back. Since Adam has his fingerprints in late May, the interviewer thought it was strange that the FBI didn't have the results yet. He said that if he cleared, and the case came back to him we would be approved, but if it went to someone else they may not approve us. It was all really disheartening and I guess I didn't expect it. I had every t crossed and i dotted, but I guess that doesn't always help. Now we get to go into the big black hole of security clearance pending. I just can't cheer up :(

Adam - Birmingham/Manchester, UK

Thanks Estella...and many congrats on your "pending" approval.

I know what you mean about feeling down. Since my case was transfered to CSC, we have had 2 RFEs - one for me to get a local police certificate, and then another one sending me for another FULL medical (I693) although my K1 medical was in November 2005. It has been stressful, especially what with starting work and all.

My second RFE was received in CSC yesterday, so I'm kind of waiting to see what the next one will be!

Let's hope Adam's pending security check comes back real quick :thumbs:

Hi everyone!

So now i'm officially a london embassy graduate!! We filed for AOS/EAD and it was received on 08/24/06 so now we are sitting very patiently ( :bonk: ) waiting for things to happen! We received our NOA 1's a couple of days ago with a refund of $70 (well they sent one of our money orders back) for the EAD biometrics....I guess i only needed to send one fee when both forms are sent in together??!! Just been looking at the Fresno timelines and i think we are gonna be waiting a while :crying:

Anyway i'm glad i just found this thread....I loved the k1 version - i feel more comforted now!!

Good luck everyone

Sammy :luv:

English Sammy- you may not have to wait as long as the timeline suggests- we sent out our AOS paperwork at the end of June, even with an RFE we have received our interview date for September 26. That is MONTHS faster then we anticipated as our local office finally changed the updated list and they are saying they are working on applications from February 23. Good luck!!!

Thanks for the congratulations Kiki. I had not thought about it as anything but a "Pending Forever" status or something akin to a denial.

Wow another police certificate, from the USA? But you've only been here less than a year. And another medical? Hmm I wonder why they single some people out for these things? I think they may start requiring a second medical once in the USA, because when we had the interview, the officer asked us if we had another one here, and looked really hopeful like if we had one just for kicks, it would have given us major brownie points. I don't know.

In the meantime you have an amazing job and if you get the AP you can travel. My new theory for my situation is that if Adam can legally work and travel abroad, then screw the GreenCard, I won't let it get me down. We just wanted it to one day get his dual citizenship so if we ever came back to the USA we would never have to go through this again. This is all making living in England seem very nice right now.

EnglishSammy that is a great wedding picture!

Congrats on the new job, Kiki!

And Marie, I'm really sorry that you're in the pending AOS limbo right now. I hope you get some good news, soon!

And welcome to the waiting club, sammy. :)

I have some good news to contribute to the thread, also. We had our AOS interview this morning and we were approved with no qualms. We did however throw away $200 on the EAD that never materialised. Oh well. I just can't stop smiling that we got approved today. :) We were only in the interview for about 10-15 minutes. Our officer only wanted to see a few pieces of paperwork, a few items that proved we were together, and he actually seemed to recognise me from one of the stores I shop in on occassion. It seems that we live in the same area. So that was pretty cool.

So now were done with immigration until 2008. Woohoo!
