Hey Pax!!!!!!!! It's almost April!!!!! (not that I didn't think you realized this) You must be getting pumped!!!

As for our visa journey story....the AOS process has officially begun....we submitted our AOS and EAD today and applied for Andrew's SSN yesterday. Let's hope this next part of the ride is a smooth one.

By the way to everyone....we ended up using that civil surgeon in Seattle Washington, OCCUHEALTH for our medical supplement and everything went smoothly. We sent them a money order for $35 and a fax of Andrew's medical history from his Dr. in Scotland and in about 2 weeks OCCUHEALTH had the supplement mailed back to us. The actual supplement is in a sealed envelope as needed and a copy for our records was also included. I'd highly recommend it.

Later, Weebeansy!

Hey all!

Well, I'm out of town for at least 3 weeks for work starting Friday. No telling when I'll get the chance to peek back in.

C & I are planning on doing the DORA thing for AOS, so hopefully it'll all go smoothly. Now all I need is the OK from work to take off a couple of days for a drive to Dallas for the appointment. Our AOS packet is sitting here ready to go when the time arrives!

I'll keep you all informed as I'm allowed to check in from work and wish everyone lots of luck while I'm away!

I have a question to ask, I should know it but no harm in asking again surely. Do I need to take my X-ray results with me through the Immigration Port of Entry, I know the medical papers do in those brown envelopes at Newark in May? I know you have to show them at the AOS interview. Thanks.

Alison.

Alison, from all the accounts I've read, its NOT necessary to lug the xrays through with you at POE.

This is true..................I put mine in my hand luggage to be safe incase i was asked for em, but never was!!, as they are POE officers not doctors so looking at them will mean nothing to them!!....the doctor already looked and put his findings in your medical results !!

I just wanted to pop in here and say hello to everyone. We have been trying to take a break from immigration stuff but we finally got all the AOS paperwork together. All I need to do is have the financial form notarized and we'll be set to mail it out. We applied several weeks ago for the EAD as we didn't know how long it would take to accumulate the AOS stuff (it turned out to be pretty painless- most of it we already had copied- I think I'm turning into an immigration pro).

We had our first appt with the OB/GYN 3 weeks ago and my husband started to cry when he saw the ultrasound. We have now been doing lots of research on dual citizenship as my husband is adament the baby must have a British passport. He's convinced he'll be Prime Minister one day.

Hope you are all well!

See my timeline for all previous dates!

Naturalization:

6/28/09: Mail N-400 to Texas

7/6/09: NOA1

7/24/09: Biometrics

10/08/09: Interview

11/21/09: Receive oath date

01/22/10: Oath Date

With thanks to all the helpful people who made this journey slightly more bearable.

LOL on the Prime Minister thingy......

Do you have a NOA1 receipt for your EAD? With a K-1, you can't file the EAD ahead of the AOS...it and the AP have to either go AFTER the AOS or with it. I don't want to mis-speak with a K3 ......

Can anyone share their POE stories? I'm wondering how long I should expect to wait for Ewen; I'm not going to show up early if it's going to take him 2 hours to get through immigration, LOL.

Abby (U.S.) and Ewen (Scotland): We laughed. We cried. Our witness didn't speak English. Happily married (finally), 27 December 2006.

Latest news: Green card received 16 April 2007. USCIS-free until 3 January 2009! Eligible to naturalize 3 April 2010.
